pregnant and having kids need not mean that you have to stay fat for the rest of
your life. In fact, you can have a lean body and flat abs in spite of having kids. To
lose weight after pregnancy may seem like a daunting task but it is totally possible
to get your figure back. Learn how to lose weight after pregnancy by follwing these 5

Women are usually shocked to see their post natal bodies after giving birth. They
may wonder if they ever will be able to get their pre-pregnancy shape back. (I can
totally relate to this).

kids (speaking from personal experience!!)

Tip # 1. Don’t rush it
2. Many women start an exercise program too soon after having a baby to lose the
pounds. In fact your body needs a period of time off to allow to rest and heal after
giving birth( usually 6 weeks ). Don’t start an exercise program before getting an OK
from your doctor or midwife. During the first few weeks, eat healthy, take care of
your new born, rest when possible. Listen to your body and start slowly with an
exercise program.
Tip # 2. Breastfeed your baby
Some experts say that nursing your baby will help shed those unwanted pounds.
Although I am all in for breastfeeding ( nursed both my babies for 2 full years each),
I actually started to lose weight AFTER I stopped breastfeeding. Enjoy your bonding
time with your baby as this time will never return. Fat loss can wait a bit.
Tip # 3. Sleep your way to fat loss

Many new moms are sleep deprived and this may also be a factor of slow weight
loss. Try to take naps with the baby and stay rested. Lack of sleep is directly related
to weight gain.
Tip # 4. Don’t go on a fad diet while breastfeeding
Your may get extra hungry during breastfeeding and would want to eat anything and
everything. Be mindful of your eating habits. Don’t starve yourself, but do try to eat
healthy nutritious foods (think salad and proteins) . Don’t go on any fad diet ( low
carb, low fat, etc). Eat a balance of all 3 macronutrients. Steer clear of from sugar
and processed foods.
3. Tip # 5. Start an strength training program
Strength training is the most efficient way to exercise and will give you more bang
for your buck. You get more done in less time and tone and strengthen your entire
body. Join a gym and take a break from taking care of the baby. (assign that
responsibility to your spouse as this is your ‘me’ time). Strength training will provide
more noticeable transformation than if you lost weight solely through cardio. So
pump some iron, moms for faster weight loss!
Conclusion
Depending on how much you have gained during pregnancy, losing weight can be
exhausting and time consuming. All it requires is will power and motivation.
