There are two systems of
education in Pakistan:
traditional and modern. The
traditional system, which
focuses on Islam, has
experienced an exponential
growth since the 1970s,
influenced by the wave of
Islamic fundamentalism from
Iran.
the modern formal education
system extending from primary
to the university levels

the primary school. –

designed for children ranging

divided into three main

  • 6. Pakistan There are two systems of education in Pakistan: traditional and modern. The traditional system, which focuses on Islam, has experienced an exponential growth since the 1970s, influenced by the wave of Islamic fundamentalism from Iran. the modern formal education system extending from primary to the university levels France  1960’s and 1970’s  Since 1967 it’s been mandatory for those 6-16 years of age  Public and private  Majority of private schools are Catholic  Regulated by the Ministry of National Education  Minister of National Education as of May 2007 is Xavier Darcos  Anyone ages 3-5 can go to a nursery school

  • 14. Pakistan Pre-School Level Pre-school level is designed for the age group of 3 – 5 years old. It constitutes of 3 stages. Play-group Nursery Kindergarten France Pre-school classes: from 2 to 5 years-old. «La maternelle» is more classes than a playschool. It prepares children to enter the primary school. –

Pakistan Primary Level This level is designed for children ranging between 6 – 10 years of age. It constitutes of Classes 1-5 Children are usually taught basic subjects: English Urdu Mathematics Science Social Studies Religious Studies France Primary Mandatory at age 6 2 yrs old-preschool 3 yrs old-kindergarden Learn to write and read the first year after kindergarden Primary school for 6 to 11 years-old. It is dedicated to basic skills. –

Pakistan Middle Level: After passing grade 5 exams students are promoted into Middle level. It is from class 6 to class 8. Children of this age group start to analyze, solve and evaluate problems requiring critical thinking France Collège (middle school), for children during their first four years of secondary education from the age of 11 to 15.

Pakistan Secondary Level : In secondary level 9 and 10 class are taught which are divided into three main sections such as (arts , science & computer sciences) according to the student’s mental caliber. France Secondary Education Collège (high school) for the first 4 years right after primary school – Ages 11-15 Lycée (high school- preparing for college) for the next 3 years – 15-18

Pakistan Higher Secondary : (Under Graduate) After passing grade 9/10 levels students are promoted to 11/12 level which is called intermediate (F.A/ FSc).students have lot of options to do there inter according to their interest such as (engineering , pre engineering , commerce etc.) France Brevet Brevet-first official diploma – Not required to enter high school – Consists of the grades from the final year and a final exam Only French, mathematics, history, and geography

Pakistan Graduate & Post Graduate: After passing under graduate level they have a chance to continue their studies and take admission in university for their bachelor’s degree such as engineering , B.A , BSC ,MBBS , LLB , etc. After their bachelor’s degree they can be enrolled in master’s degree programs. They have a chance to do M.Phils. or Ph.D. France Baccalauréat High school diploma Needed in order to get into a university or any professional work Refers to the diploma and the exams that go along with it – Similar to SATs or ACTs Baccalauréat Général Most students get thi Divided into 3 areas of study Can be any 3 areas of study
