WRITING PAPER PART 1: PRODUCTION/ ANSWERING AN
EMAIL/LETTER (COMPULSORY WRITING)
PARTS OF AN EMAIL/LETTER
Hi Anne
Thanks for your email. In your letter you tell me that/It’s very
exciting to hear you’re coming to Italy.
Personally, I think the best time to come is the spring before it gets too
hot. If you want to meet young people I suggest spending a few days at
a school or college. How about coming to mine?I’m sure we can organize
something with the teachers. Also it would be a good idea to stay in a
youth hostel.
In the spring the weather is usually quite changeable, so you should bring
some light clothes for the daytime but a jersey and a jacket for the
evenings.
Thanks also for your your invitation to join the group. I’d like to do so if
I’m free. I’ll be able to show you some of the most interesting things in
my area.
I’m looking forward to hearing from you again soon!
Best wishes
Chiara

WRITING PAPER PART 1: PRODUCTION/ ANSWERING AN
EMAIL/LETTER (COMPULSORY WRITING)
From: Tesa
Sent: 2nd March
Subject: lost my phone.
Great to get your email and I’m glad to hear that you’ve been working so
hard! Did you get your essay finished on time? I’m afraid I missed the
deadline and I had to ask for exra time.
The reason I haven’t called you recently is that I’ve lost my mobile phone!
I know, typical me- left it on the train while I was coming home late one
night! Bet you’ve never done that! Anyway, obviously I need to get a new
one. I’m so confused by all hese advertisements for mobile phones and
networks –I just don’t know which one to go for. What would you
suggest? Money’s not a problem really as I’ve just got paid for my
summer job. Let me know what you think.
Thanks
Tessa

In your letter you tell me that/It’s very exciting to hear you’re coming to Italy. Personally, I think the best time to come is the spring before it gets too hot. If you want to meet young people I suggest spending a few days at a school or college. How about coming to mine?I’m sure we can organize something with the teachers. Also it would be a good idea to stay in a youth hostel. In the spring the weather is usually quite changeable, so you should bring some light clothes for the daytime but a jersey and a jacket for the evenings. Thanks also for your your invitation to join the group. I’d like to do so if I’m free. I’ll be able to show you some of the most interesting things in my area. I’m looking forward to hearing from you again soon! Best wishes Chiara
