Hey Adam Hoeksema here Founder of ExpertizeMe.com Today I am going to present to you how you can earn expert recognition for you and your business in 6 short months.
I use the Google Adwords Keyword Tool to find niche markets to target. It is a free tool that is simply awesome. So this is how it works. You guessed it. Simply “Google” the Google Adwords Keyword Tool and then type in keyword phrase related to your business. For instance, if you sell a product to eliminate mold you might type in, “how to clean mold.” You might be surprised to know that there are 14,800 searches for this keyword phrase each month. So how do you know if the niche is too big or too small. As a general rule of thumb you want to find a market that you can penetrate quickly, but grow into over a period of time. 10,000 to 15,000 monthly searches is a great target if the competition is relatively light. So your long term strategy is to find the 15,000 people that are asking this question each month and answer the question. You can’t rank #1 on Google tomorrow for this keyword phrase so you will want to use some other strategies to build up to this.
When you use the Keyword Tool you will notice that the results return various related search phrases along with their estimated traffic. For example, “how to clean mold from wood” receives 2,400 monthly searches, and “how to clean mold from carpet” has about 1,300 monthly searches. Because these have less demand there is also less competition, so you can start building content around these easier to dominate search phrases. So write some articles, create some presentations, pictures, videos, ebooks, guides, tutorials etc on these smaller niche phrases. Publish the content on your website as well as on youtube, article directories and more. This content will all point back to your website and will help grow your SEO foot print.
So now once you have started to drive relevant visitors to your website you need to find a way to keep them there right? Most people don’t purchase via the web the first time they visit a website, so you need to make sure you can bring them back. This is where Aweber comes in. I use Aweber which is an email autoresponder to automate the process of giving away a free ebook, guide, template, example, etc in exchange for an email address. Once you have an email address you can work on creating value that brings people back. The key is to have some great value that is a free give away. In this example, maybe a 10 page guide on how to clean mold once and for all might be a compelling document that could have success at building an email list.
