I am writing this letter in regards to Mrs. Evette Northern's performance as Office
Manager with Oldcastle APG South Inc, d.b.a. Big Rock Building Products. Mrs.
Northern's primary duties as HR Manager for Big Rock were outsourced in March of
2003, but I would enthusiastically re-hire Mrs. Northern should a position matching her
skills become available.
Mrs. Northern was employed with Oldcastle from March 22, 2000 until March 28, 2003.
During her tenure with Oldcastle, Mrs. Northern had many impressive accomplishments,
but of special note are the following:
• Recruiting andBenefit Development - As theprimary HR Manager fora
Greenfield plant Evette was instrumental in recruiting and hiring a high-
performing team for both the Production and Sales divisions.
• Olfice Management - Responsible foraccounts receivable in excess of $15M,
a payroll exceeding $IM, and payables accounts in excess of $8M.
• ERPSoftware Installation - Asan administrative leader in the company,
Evette was involved in the development of a windows based Enterprise
Resource Planning platform which was successfully installed in March 2003.
• Employee Development - Supervised three direct reports in their dayto day
functions and developed career improvement plans for each.
Evette Northern is an exemplary employee with a deep skill set. I would recommend her
highly for any position of responsibility. She possesses natural leadership ability and a
thorough understanding of cost accounting, benefit program administration, and human
resource management.
