2. GENERAL TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS
• Goal Setting: set clear goals in order to manage your time properly.
• Prioritization: priorities the items that you have in your task list.
• Self-Awareness: understand how you work. Everybody has their own unique way of
working and it is important to know early so that you can plan yourself accordingly.
• Self-Motivation: there are days when we do not want to do anything. On such cases we
need to give motivation to ourselves to take action.

• Focus: focus your attention on one task at a time and block out all distractions.
• Planning: planning will help you to be aware of all the tasks that are required in order
to complete a project.
• Coping Skills: coping skills are methods a person uses to deal with stressful situations
and they vary per individual.
• Stress Management: we experience stress in every aspect of our life, especially at work,
we need to learn how to manage our stress.
• Record Keeping: recording keeping is important in time management as it helps
eliminate time wasting.

• Organization and Filling: when you are organized, everything will be “in place”. You will be
able to find what you are looking for in a particular place faster so this will save you time
and effort.
• Communication Skills: when working with others you need to communicate with them on a
daily basis. Strong communication skills will enable you to build supportive relationships
with those whom you work with and this puts you in a better position to ask for their
support or help.
