Objective: To understand and practice gratitude as a spiritual discipline.
Materials needed: Whiteboard and markers, handouts with biblical passages on gratitude, note-taking materials
Introduction (10 minutes):
1. Welcome participants and introduce the topic of gratitude.
2. Ask participants to share a personal experience of feeling grateful or thankful.
3. Explain why gratitude is important in our spiritual lives and how it impacts our relationship with God and others.
Biblical Foundation (20 minutes):
1. Review several biblical passages on gratitude, such as Philippians 4:6-7, 1 Thessalonians 5:18, and Colossians 3:15.
2. Discuss the meaning and implications of these passages for our lives.
3. Emphasize how gratitude is not just a feeling, but a spiritual discipline that involves choosing to focus on what is good in our
lives and giving thanks to God.
Practical Application (30 minutes):
1. Divide participants into small groups and ask each group to share one specific thing they are grateful for this week.
2. Encourage group members to share how they plan to express gratitude for this thing.
3. After 10 minutes, ask each group to share their experience with the larger group.
4. Provide handouts with practical tips for cultivating gratitude, such as keeping a gratitude journal, expressing thanks in prayer,
and focusing on the present moment.
Conclusion (10 minutes):
1. Summarize the main points of the session and the importance of gratitude in our spiritual lives.
2. Encourage participants to continue practicing gratitude and to share their experiences with others.

Lesson Plan: Gratitude to Teachers
Objective: To instill in church trainees a deep appreciation and gratitude for teachers and their role in shaping lives.

 Chart paper and markers

 Greet the trainees and explain the purpose of the lesson.
 Ask the trainees to share their experiences with teachers and what they learned from them.

Bible Study (15 minutes):

 James 3:1, Proverbs 11:14, Proverbs 12:26, 1 Corinthians 12:28.
