Fostering Friendships - Enhancing Social Bonds in the Classroom
Soil Contamination
1. Preface
Praise we prayed to God the Almighty, for blessing of His love
and grace, we can compile a report on soil pollution well and smoothly.
Don’t forget we also say a big thank you to Mrs. Sriwahyuni as
mentor teachers in our study Biology and at the same time we create
a guidance counselor in this report. Then, to friends who have helped
and supported us in completion of this report. Also to other parties
who are directly or indirectly involved in making this report.
End of the word "No Ivory is not cracked", as well as our state.
Many mistakes that we do that might hurt you, therefore we are
sorry.
Thank you for your attention.

3. A. The Background
As fairy tales and the like. In writing the report also has a
background. The background in our writing or preparing the report
"Soil Pollution" is:
1) Doing the duty that is given a teacher mentor (B.
Sriwahyuni) to us
2) Our desire to observe the impact and prevention of
pollution of Soil.
3) Our concern on the dangers of pollution of soil for plants,
animals and even humans in the vicinity.
4) We want to accustom ourselves to think scientifically
4. B. The Goals
All activities must have a goal, as well as the activity to make
this report.
The goals of this report are :
Learning to make scientific work's simple
Take note of all / perpetuate the results of our observations on
the ground pncemaran
The objective of observation and this task is :
So we get to know nature
Learning sesuatau observe all around us
Learn about the causes of soil contamination, impacts and how
to prevent it, so that we can apply it in our lives each
5. C. The Contents
1) Definition of Soil Pollution :
Pollution of soil is a state in which man-made chemicals enter
and alter the natural soil environment. Soil pollution has close links
with both air pollution and the contamination of water. Pollutants
contained in the air dissolved and carried away by rain water, fell to
the ground, causing soil contamination. Similarly, contaminants in soil
surface water (river water, ditch water, lake water and brackish
water) can enter into the soil and can cause soil pollution. Thus, the
most widely Environment and is easily contaminated soil.

6. 2) Causes of Occurrence of Soil Pollution
The more advanced countries of Indonesia, so the more losses
earned our country. One of them is the pollution of soil. Soil
contamination usually occurs because:
1) Leakage of liquid waste or industrial chemicals or
commercial facilities
2) Use of pesticides,
3) The entry of contaminated ground water into the sub-
surface layer
4) Oil transport vehicle accidents, chemical substances, or
waste;
5) Waste water from the landfill and industrial waste are
directly discharged into the soil is not eligible (illegal
dumping).
When a substance is hazardous / toxic has polluted the soil
surface, so it can evaporate, and the rain washed away or get into
the ground. Pollution that enters the soil and then deposited as
toxic chemicals in soil. Toxic substances in soil can have a direct
impact to humans when in contact or can contaminate ground water
and air above it.
7. 2) 3) The impact that occurred due to the general Soil
Pollution :
a) Impact on Health
Impact of soil pollution on health depends, pathways into the
body and the vulnerability of affected populations. Chromium,
various kinds of pesticides and herbicides are carcinogenic to all
populations. Lead is very dangerous in children, because it can cause
brain damage and kidney damage.
Mercury (mercury) and siklodiena known to cause kidney
damage, and may not be biased in Treat, PCBs and related
siklodiena on liver toxicity, organophosphates and karmabat causes
the neuromuscular disorder. There are several kinds of impact on
health such as headaches, dizziness, fatigue, eye irritation and skin
rashes. Chemicals above when a stout dose, causing soil
contamination can cause death.

b) Impact on soil fertility and plant
The use of fertilizers in agriculture will continue to damage
the soil structure, leading to reduced soil fertility and can not be
planted with certain crops due to soil nutrient decreased.
Use of pesticides not only kill pests but also plant-nisme
mikroorga useful in the soil. Though soil fertility depends on the
number of organisms in it.
In addition, the continuous use of pesticides will lead to pest
plants are resistant to pesticides.
8. Inorganic garbage was not biodegradation, which causes the
soil layer can not be penetrated by plant roots and do not
penetrate the water so that the infiltration of water and minerals
that can enrich the soil is lost and thethe number of of
microorganisms in tanahpun will be reduced as a result of plant
difficult to grow and even die because they do not obtain food for
developed.
9. 3) The impact that occurred due to the Soil of the Animals
Pollution :
a) Worm
If the soil is polluted, not just humans who are having
difficulty, hewanpun too. One of these animals are called
worms. Worms in the soil eat the food and excrete the rest
in the ground as well. And waste materials (manure) worms
that can enrich the soil. However, if the land is polluted with
chemicals, it is likely that worms will die. Because
inadvertently eat foods that have been contaminated with
chemicals. So many dead worms and worm populations are
decreasing. And if left long, the worms will become extinct.
Therefore we must prevent and control pollution of land.
Because pollution is very dangerous.
10. 4) Soil Pollution Prevention:
In general, prevention is, in principle, is trying not to cause pollution, for
example, prevent / reduce the occurrence of pollutants, among others:
1) The organic waste that can rot / broken down by microorganisms,
among others, can be done by measuring the garbage in closed and
open land, can then be processed as compost / fertilizer. To reduce
terciumnya stench of gases which arise in the process of decay, the
burial of waste is done in layers with soil.
2) Garbage organic compounds or inorganic compounds which can not be
destroyed by microorganisms can be done by burning the rubbish
that can burn such as plastics and fibers collected either individually
or in a place far from home, so it does not pollute the neighborhood
air. Waste that can not be burned to ground / cut into small
particles, then buried.
3) Processing of industrial waste containing heavy metals that
contaminate the ground, before being discharged into rivers or into a
dumping ground for the purification process.
4) Radioactive waste before disposal, previously stored in the wells or
tanks in the time period long enough to not dangerous, just banished
to a place far from residential areas, such as coral islands, which are
uninhabited or to the bottom of the ocean is very deep.
11. 5) Use of fertilizer, pesticides are not used arbitrarily but in
accordance with the rules and not to overdo it.
6) Try to remove and use detergent in the form of organic compounds
that can be destroyed / broken down by microorganisms.

12. 5) Soil Pollution Protection:
If pollution has occurred, it is necessary to overcome against pollution.
Countermeasures in principle reduce soil contaminants or pollutants or
process ingredients recycle into useful materials.
Step countermeasures that can be done for example by way of :
1) Trash-organic waste that can not be destroyed (located in
considerable numbers) and interfere with the welfare of life and
pollute the soil, in order to be processed or recycled into other
goods that are useful, for example be used as children's toys, used
as building materials, plastics and fibers made kesed or recycled
paperboard into tissue, glass recycled into flower vases, plastic is
recycled into the bucket and there are many more ways to waste
recycler.
2) Used building materials (such as ceramics, stones, sand, gravel,
bricks, berangkal) that can cause land to be no / less fertile, well
buried in the multiple layers that can serve as water catchment and
filtration, so it does not cause flooding, they will stay in place
around the house and filtered. Infiltration of water could even
enter into the well and can be reused as clean water.
3) Acid rain causes soil pH to be no longer suitable for crops, the soil
should be augmented with lime to acid pH decreases.

13. D. The Closure
This report was to our bunk. May be useful for you, the readers.
If we make in this report, there are a lot of mistakes either writing,
speech or intent that might offend you, please forgive. We just want
to make this report possible.
So that we can deliver. For your kind attention we give our
thanks.
