Hearing Student Concerns Facilities: Outdoor campus lighting: As a result of a concern, additional fixtures installed in front of Zug During E-coli outbreak, all water fountains were disabled; worked with Facilities to reinstate these fixtures across campus Helped to publicize details of the Academic Quad construction in conjunction with the Office of Marketing & Communications Students were concerned about new showerheads in residence halls; Facilities responded by educating students about “Going Green Initiatives” in an effort to reduce our carbon footprint Over concerns of H1N1, worked to increase hand sanitizer stations across campus

Hearing Student Concerns Off Campus: Heard concerns about students going off campus during the weekends Worked closely with the Director of Public Affairs in addressing concerns from the community Held focus groups surrounding the topic of being off campus Served as a mediator for students to speak directly with the Elizabethtown Borough Chief of Police and the PA Liquor Control Agency A plan of action is currently being drafted; a formal presentation of the plan will take place in January

Hearing Student Concerns Student Health Model: Engaged in a discussion with the Dean of Students and Director of Campus Health about the proposed changes last year Worked this semester on concerns from students as they utilized the new services Helped to disseminate information via Chirp Chat and Senate website Information and Technology Services: Voiced student and student group concerns over the Print Quota Will be working to inform students about the possible changes or full implementation in the Spring semester

Hearing Student Concerns Body Shop Equipment: Worked with the Dean of Students on evaluating and pursuing new equipment Helped to showcase the new equipment to the student body Diversity Plan: Participated as a focus group during the research phase for the Diversity Task Force Reviewed the Diversity Plan and examined how it would effect students on campus Engaged students in institutional initiatives by being an outlet for their feedback of the Plan President Metcalf was interviewed by local media about the plan

Hearing Student Concerns School Spirit: Heard concerns about students being unhappy with E-town spirit Senators on the Athletics Committee have voiced these concerns and are working with the Athletics Director to address them in the coming semester Club Council: Student groups wanted more interaction with the Elizabethtown community Held “Trick or Treat 2009” in October to connect students with area families Over 300 individuals attended and 20 student groups participated
