A close relative of the Americano, the red eye is espresso
mixed with brewed coffee. A red eye is a fortified coffee drink
in which espresso is combined with normal drip brew coffee.

An affogato is a espresso-based beverage. It usually takes the form of
a scoop of vanilla gelato or ice cream topped with a shot of hot
espresso. Some variations also include a shot of Amaretto or other
liqueur. “Affogato al cafe” means “drowned in coffee”
The classic cocktail is made of hot coffee, Irish whiskey, and sugar
(some recipes specify that brown sugar should be used) topped with
thick cream. The original Irish coffee was invented and named by Joe
Sheridan, a head chef in Foynes, County Limerick.
