CustodianshipMedicalInsurance
Health and medical costs are very
expensive in Canada. Medical coverage
available to international students vary from
province to province. In the provinces where
international students are not covered
under the provincial health plan, students
must arrange for private health insurance.
In the province of Ontario where the
Ontario Health Insurance Plan does not
cover international students, it is mandatory
that every international student has medical
coverage once they arrive. At William
Academy, we have access to medical services
to guarantee that our students are insured
from the beginning of the school term. We
make sure that our students are covered for
hospital, laboratory, emergency, and clinical
services among others.
At William Academy, we also provide
custodianship services if necessary. We
ensure that your child is well cared for in
Canada, giving parents much needed peace
of mind.To keep the lines of communication
open, we communicate with parents monthly
to let you know how your child is doing in
class and give suggestions for how you can
support your child from overseas
We have scheduled trips and outdoor
activities during weekends, such as skating,
swimming, BBQ, beach volleyball a n d s o
on.To help students acclimatize, we also have
planned trips to Niagara Falls, Quebec
City, Montreal and some other tourist
attractions over the summer. Our clubs
are organized and led by our students with
teacher supervision. We have self-discovery
clubs, fundraising clubs, and team building
clubs. We also have sports clubs such as
badminton, tennis, soccer, basket ball, dance,
hockey, golf, and so on.
This program gives students many
opportunities to volunteer at community
service centres allowing them to earn
community service hours, which is a pre-
requisite for high school graduation. By
volunteering in the community, students are
also able to raise their social awareness and
gain valuable work experience.
