Turning business professionals into professional presenters!

Chamber Spotlight Speech by Jacki Rose – presented on 9/20/05

Have you ever given a presentation where afterwards someone came up to you and said,
“That was fabulous!”?

Who here thinks public speaking is fun? Who here avoids public speaking at all costs?

The number one fear among us today is the fear of public speaking. Death is number 2.
Jerry Seinfeld says: that means at a funeral the average person would rather be in the
casket than give the eulogy.

The ironic thing is that public speaking is one of the most important skills necessary to
succeed in business.

I once saw a woman talk about her business. She was so nervous she stumbled through
her notes and shook so much it looked as if she was in the middle of an earthquake. She
appeared as if she had no idea of what she was talking about. When in fact, she knew
exactly what she was talking about and was an expert in her field. She just had bad
presentation skills.

Bad presentation skills produce bad presentations which in turn produce bad results.

If you want your presentations to produce great results, you need to have great
presentation skills.

I wish I had time to let you know what makes a great presentation, but I only have 3
minutes and half of them are gone. However, you can find lots of free public speaking
tips on my website which is listed on my brochure in front of you. One of you will win
my new CD from the raffle on 11 steps to powerful public speaking, but if you don’t win
it and you would like it, see me later. I just happened to have a few extras with me.

I thrive on turning ordinary people into great presenters. If you want to turn your staff
into great presenters or if you want to turn yourself into a great presenter, then give me
a call.

I’ll leave you with one really good tip.

Last Friday I was the keynote speaker at a National conference in Boston.

Afterwards people came up to me and said, “That was a fabulous presentation, you
spoke from your heart, and you connected with the audience.”

When you speak from the heart, when you connect with the audience, and when you
give your audience something they can benefit from, your next presentation just may be
fabulous.

  • 1. Turning business professionals into professional presenters! Chamber Spotlight Speech by Jacki Rose – presented on 9/20/05 Have you ever given a presentation where afterwards someone came up to you and said, “That was fabulous!”? Who here thinks public speaking is fun? Who here avoids public speaking at all costs? The number one fear among us today is the fear of public speaking. Death is number 2. Jerry Seinfeld says: that means at a funeral the average person would rather be in the casket than give the eulogy. The ironic thing is that public speaking is one of the most important skills necessary to succeed in business. I once saw a woman talk about her business. She was so nervous she stumbled through her notes and shook so much it looked as if she was in the middle of an earthquake. She appeared as if she had no idea of what she was talking about. When in fact, she knew exactly what she was talking about and was an expert in her field. She just had bad presentation skills. Bad presentation skills produce bad presentations which in turn produce bad results. If you want your presentations to produce great results, you need to have great presentation skills. I wish I had time to let you know what makes a great presentation, but I only have 3 minutes and half of them are gone. However, you can find lots of free public speaking tips on my website which is listed on my brochure in front of you. One of you will win my new CD from the raffle on 11 steps to powerful public speaking, but if you don’t win it and you would like it, see me later. I just happened to have a few extras with me. I thrive on turning ordinary people into great presenters. If you want to turn your staff into great presenters or if you want to turn yourself into a great presenter, then give me a call. I’ll leave you with one really good tip. Last Friday I was the keynote speaker at a National conference in Boston. Afterwards people came up to me and said, “That was a fabulous presentation, you spoke from your heart, and you connected with the audience.” When you speak from the heart, when you connect with the audience, and when you give your audience something they can benefit from, your next presentation just may be fabulous. ________________________________________________________________________________ Website: www.JackiRose.com │www.TheCyclingSpeaker.com │ Email: Jacki@JackiRose.com │ Tel. 508-381-1529 © Top Performance 2011 * Public Speaking & Presentation Skills Training * Workshops * Seminars * Coaching
