A production company provides the physical basis for works in the realms of the performing arts, new
media art, film, television, radio and video.
The production company may be directly responsible for fundraising for the production or could
accomplish this through a parent company, partner or private investor. Production companies handle
budgeting, scheduling, scripting, the talent and resources, the organisation of staff, the production
itself, post-production, distribution and marketing. Production companies are often owned under
contract with media conglomerate, film studio or Entertainment Company, who act as the production
company’s parent company, together, this has become known as the “studio system”. The production
company can also be mainstream independent or completely independent. Production companies can
also work together in co-productions.

produces, and distributes films, video games and television programming. It has produced or

Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation, also known as 20 Century Fox is one of the six major
American film studios as of 2011. Located in the Century City area of Los Angeles, just west of
Beverly Hills, the studio is a subsidiary of Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation. The company was
founded on May 31, 1935, as the result of the merger of Fox Film Corporation, founded by William
Fox in 1915, and Twentieth Century Pictures, founded in 1933 by Darryl F. Zanuck, Joseph Schenck,
Raymond Griffith and William Goetz.

After researching production companies that Jennifer Aniston has been involved with, I have decided

to choose 20 Century Fox as this is one of the production companies that produced one of her most
famous chick flicks and I feel that the same production company will do the same good job as it
accomplished with the film “Marley and Me” starring Jennifer Aniston.
