This slide represents the “home” state of the psadmin utility. The new addition to PSADMIN that I am highlighting is Option 4, which gives the admin full control to administer PeopleSoft Webservers.
This slide represents the actions taken to create a new webserver domain. The admin would open up the psadmin utility (previous slide) and choose Option 4 -> Option 2
This slide represents the quick configuration options for the webserver. Prior to PT8.52, these values were entered on the GUI installation tool. The name of the domain is given here as well as the website name.
The slide represents the administration options of a domain that has been created. In order to get to this window the admin would open psadmin then choose Option 4 -> Option 1 -> choose Domain. Here we see the “peoplesoft” domain which was created in the previous slide. The admin is given a host of options on what they’d like to do with the domain (boot, shutdown, etc). The following slides give more detail about each option.
The Boot the Domain option is shown here. In order to get to this window the admin would open psadmin then choose Option 4 -> Option 1 -> choose Domain -> Option 1.
This slide represents the Shutdown option. In order to get to this window the admin would open psadmin then choose Option 4 -> Option 1 -> choose Domain -> Option 2.
In order to get to this window the admin would open psadmin then choose Option 4 -> Option 1 -> choose Domain -> Option 3. This option is going to retrieve the domain status, whether or not it is running. You can see the domain status is “Stopped” in this example.
In order to get to this window the admin would open psadmin then choose Option 4 -> Option 1 -> choose Domain -> Option 4. This option allows the admin to quickly configure the values shown. Once again, all configurable parameters were previously set during the GUI installation or after the site was created by editing specific files.
In order to get to this window the admin would open psadmin then choose Option 4 -> Option 1 -> choose Domain -> Option 5. This option allows the admin to quickly retrieve and edit files used by the new domain. Having a utility that allows the admin to easily get to these files is a great improvement. They still reside in multiple directories but the psadmin utility makes it simple to find them.
In order to get to this window the admin would open psadmin then choose Option 4 -> Option 1 -> choose Domain -> Option 6. This option allows the admin to view log files associated to the domain.
In order to get to this window the admin would open psadmin then choose Option 4 -> Option 1 -> choose Domain -> Option 7 -> choose Site. This option allows the admin to administer a specific PeopleSoft website, in this example the site name is “ps”.
In order to get to this window the admin would open psadmin then choose Option 4 -> Option 1 -> choose Domain -> Option 7 -> choose Site -> Option 1 (configure). This option allows the admin to administer a specific PeopleSoft website, in this example the site name is “ps”. The values shown here are stored in the configuration.properties file.
In order to get to this window the admin would open psadmin then choose Option 4 -> Option 1 -> choose Domain -> Option 8. This option allows the admin to delete a domain. Within one domain you can have many sites, so if a specific site needed to be deleted you start psadmin and then go to Option 4 -> Option 1 -> choose Domain -> Option 8 -> choose Site. If there is only one site within the domain the tool will not allow you to delete it.
In order to get to this window the admin would open psadmin then choose Option 4 -> Option 1 -> choose Domain -> Option 9. This option allows the admin to setup a Windows Service which will allow the PeopleSoft domain to be stopped/started from the Windows Services utility.
