the Launcher.
The launcher provides you with

system will place an icon in the
Launcher while the application is

Launcher->Ubuntu One
Ubuntu One is a service for storing your
files online—in your Ubuntu One Personal
Cloud.
Your Ubuntu One Personal Cloud is your
personal online storage space; it can be
accessed in any web browser or using an
Ubuntu One application, such as those for
Ubuntu, Windows, iPhone, or Android.
You can also use Ubuntu One to share files
with other people—this makes Ubuntu
One a great tool for friends, families, and
collaborative teams.

How to Change which applications
show in the Launcher.
To add an Application to the Launcher
for easy access.
Open the Dash, find the application
you wish to add to the Launcher, and
Drag the Application’s icon from the
Dash onto the Launcher.

The Launcher icon order can be changed by
dragging an icon off of the Launcher.
And then back onto it in the desired location.
To remove an application icon from the
Launcher, right click on the application icon
and select Unlock from launcher.

The Dash allows you to search
for applications, files, music,
and videos, and shows you
items that you have used
recently.
If you have ever worked on a
spreadsheet or edited an
image and forgot where you
saved it, you will surely find
this feature of the Dash to be

Search everything from the Dash
home
The first thing you’ll see when opening
the Dash is the Dash home. Without
typing or clicking anything, the Dash
Home will show you apps and files
you’ve used recently.
Only one row of results will show for
each type. If there are more results,
you can click See more results to view
them.

the right of window management
buttons.

on the top left corner of windows,
when maximized, the buttons are in
the top left of the screen.
Click the buttons to close , minimize,

the right side of menu bar.
The status menus are a convenient place
where you can check and modify the state

remains as secure as possible.

Each person that uses the
computer should have a different
user account. This allows them to
keep their files separate from
yours and to choose their own
settings.
You can register and modify user
account.
Account Type is necessary to
select which is administrator or
standard.

Install additional Software
In Ubuntu, the quickest and
easiest way to find and install new
applications is through the Ubuntu
Software Center.
To start the application, click on
the Ubuntu Software Center icon
in the Launcher, or click on the
Dash and search for Ubuntu
Software Center.

When the Ubuntu Software Center
open, search for application, or
select a category and find an
application from the list.
Select the application that you are
interested in and click install.
You will be asked to enter your
password. Once you have done
that the installation will begin.

Remove an application
The Ubuntu Software Center makes it
easy to remove software that you no
longer use.
Click the installed button at the top.
Find the application that you want to
remove by using the search box.
Select the application and remove.
You may be asked to enter your
password. After you have done that,
the application will be removed.
