2. We all, well almost all of us, have unwelcome imperfections on our skin
that we just wish would disappear. And the temptation is to cake them over
with so much cream and powder that they never see the light of day. Well,
not only do we end up looking like something straight out of Madame
Tussauds wax museum, but we also run the risk of aggravating our skin and
worsening the situation. Below you can find some tips that will help you
conceal skin blemishes in simple ways and get the most out of our makeup
at the same time.

3. How to cover pimples
Pimples can be a real nuisance and breakouts often occur at the worst
possible time. The first thing to remember, though, is that we are often our
own worst critic and we tend to be far more conscious of them than
anyone looking at us. As we all know, pimples protrude from our skin, so
there’s no covering them completely. We can, however, make them barely
noticeable by taking some of the colour out of them.

4. When covering pimples, the first thing to do is dab some yellow or green corrector
directly on to the affected areas; these colours counteract the reddish colour of the
pimple. Then very gently work the colour into your skin with a clean finger taking
care not to pop the pimple or further aggravate the area. Once the corrector has
been applied you can go ahead and pad a natural colour foundation on top of the
area and the rest of your face.
It’s also a good idea to draw attention away from the pimple by going for a bit of
extra flair around other areas of your face. You could try some ambitious shades
around your eyes or a more noticeable lipstick. Even doing something extra special
with your hair and dressing up that little bit more can go a long way.

5. How to cover dark rings under your eyes
When you’re going through a particularly rough period and worn out or not
sleeping well, your eyes are usually the first to suffer the consequences. Dark circles
under your eyes can make you look down and out, but not to worry, a bit of handy
work with some concealer and powder on top can remedy these situations.
An orange based concealer is what you want to get rid of the bluish tones in the
region just below the eye. You might want to first jazz up the rest of you eye with
some nice eyeliner and bright eye shadow for your lids. After that, it’s just a matter
of working the concealer only into the darkened crescent region under your eye.
Make sure the concealer is nicely blended into the immediate vicinity and then
apply your powder over the top.

6. If the circles under your eyes are a common occurrence or you notice that
they’re getting more pronounced with age, you should really adopt a daily
regime with a cream that revitalise, tighten and lift the skin around the
affected area.
There are other types of blemishes that are more of a permanent nature,
including pockmarks, large pores, moles, freckles and splotchy skin that can
be counteracted with a bit of makeup. You should, however, always get the
opinion of your dermatologist regarding permanently affected regions, so
as not to actually do further damage to the affected areas.
