The document outlines a production schedule and development process for a client project involving two vintage clothing stores. It includes developing initial mind maps and ideas, taking photos at one of the store locations, incorporating branding elements from both clients, and creating a look book and social media photos over a four week period. Feedback from clients will be gathered along the way to refine the work, which aims to showcase the political side of vintage fashion.
3. Mind Maps/Brainstorms
Star by using the first few slides to create mind
maps and or brainstorms for ideas related to
your project. Get as many possibilities as you
can.
Don’t worry about practicality, suitability or
potential at this stage. You will assess the ideas
later.
5. Development
• Development should include mood boards or other visual
examples of work. It could include basic mock ups of your
vision for the project using the work of others.
• These don’t need to be the same quality as your finished
pieces but they a good indicator of where your project is
going.
• As this is not final work, it may include work from others.
• You could include test work or practice work here too to
further develop your skills.
6. Developed Idea 1
The idea of advertisement doesn't work completely work with the clients wishes due
to them wanting more photography based projects done for them. I think it would
have been a good idea to do posters or social media posts advertising things but I
think a lot of people do that quite simply themselves and its quite mandatory so they
are used to doing it themselves. Therefore I think that this wouldn't be a strong idea
as it wouldn't fit my briefs that I have. However when I was doing this I would have
created some posers or signs or even business cards. An idea I did have was a loyalty
card and if you shop there so many times you would get a item under a certain
amount free. I think it’d be a good way to get more customers and more business
however its also a hard thing to commit to as it might lose some money. I thought
because maybe it’s hard to get a lot of publicity in York for a small company because
its hard to get your name really out there. Therefore advertisement can be helpful for
small business’ especially free work from students especially with small business
owners have busy schedules.
7. Developed Idea 2
Photographs for social media is a really solid idea and they both want some photos
taken and doing some work like this would help my own experience with photography
and also having good enough images for social media and helps me crop them down
to things such as Instagram. I think this would be a really good way of doing something
creative and being able to experiment a little bit as well with things such as lighting
and different types of photography. This could also link in with my third idea of a look
book and it could be all put together as one project so that it all links in. I could make a
look book with the photos I get and also send the photos across for things like social
media and their websites etc. I think this would be a solid idea as one and it also really
works with what my clients want and I think it would be a really good project and easy
to work on a all ill need is a few shoots then mainly editing the photos and working on
making the finished project.
8. Developed Idea 2
Dog and Bone have sent me their fonts and logos along with
their colour schemes so that I can use them within my
project and I cant wait to include these within my work.
9. Developed idea 2
Chinese laundry had their
logo hand drawn for them
therefore it was hard for
them to send me anything
but I think I will be able to
include it some how and
just make sure its
incorporated where it can
be.
10. Developed Idea 2
These are some photos
that are from shoots
within Dog and Bone
vintage. I would quite
like to stick to this kind
of style but have more
focus on the clothes
really if its going to be
a look book then the
clothes are important
and should be priority.
11. Developed idea 2
These are some photos from shoots that
Chinese Laundry did a couple of years
ago and I really love the feel of this and
how bright the colour schemes are and
how well it works so id definitely like to
take inspiration from this. This also gives
me two different types of photography
for both clients to try out.
12. Assessment of final ideas
Suitability for audience:. Do you think your audience will engage with your ideas?
Suitability for client: Does your idea fulfil the brief your client gave you?
Timescales: Is your project practical and manageable in the time you have?
I definitely think that my audience will engage with my ideas. Especially the social media
photos idea because I think the audience of 17-30 year olds use a lot of social media and
to see things like photos and things like that will be well received by my main audience.
The idea of the social media and look book does match my brief but the advertisement
material doesn't. However it all kind of links in together and any publicity is
advertisement really.
I like to think my project is logical and I will be able to finish it within the time that I’ve
got. I will take as much time out of my own time to be able to get this finished in time
for the deadline so that I have time to get things such as feedback from clients.
13. Production Schedule:
You should prepare a production schedule that will allow you to manage your time over
the 4 weeks of production. This should include:
• Deadlines: Interim deadlines help you keep on track, final deadlines are final.
• Availability: The availability of the client and any other people you may need to help
you with your project. You will need to contact them. You might to do visit. You may
need to liaise with models, or photographers.
• Feedback: This is a working brief with a real client. You will need to get feedback on
your work and also allow yourself time to make appropriate changes. Plan appropriate
time in to you schedule so that you can do this.
• Resources: You should include a list of resources that you will need to complete your
project. Remember that this all needs to be your own work
