2. Q
Layout; The main image is
placed on the left hand side
as its quite erratic ,meaning
if children are looking
through and flicking through
magazines in shops ,usually
people flip through on the
right hand side only being
the right hand side first,so
the image wont be on show.
The letter ‘L’ takes up most
of the second pages which is
representing ‘lady’ yes the
colour red represent the
house colour scheme of Q
but could further represent
her contervesual personality
and style.
Text; were presented with a
variety of fonts to represent
different things. Firstly the
main text we all look at is the
extremely large ‘L’ in the
middle of the page of the
righting which represents the
first initials of Lady Gaga's
name. so the audience are
instantly aware of who the
article is about,as most
people would of bought the
magazine for this double
page spread. Secondly in
the top right corner of the
seconded page is Lady
Gaga's name,represent in
serif font making is less bold
but the Gaga word is
represented in uppercase to
represent a higher
importance,and when people
flick the pages they will see
the name Gaga and its an
easier way to find the article.
Small Details; The page numbers are placed
in a black box with white font to be bold and
say to know what page number your on.
Secondly the ‘q’ is placed in the same corner
as the page number to keep implying how your
buying into the brand ‘q’ its everywhere and
you feel like you've joined a family when
buying in Q.
Mode of address; Here were presented with informal
address as of the controversial main image. Lady Gags
is early makes and clearly covered her breast with her
hands with is extremely revealing and sexualises her
instantly. Here is direct address ,as she's starring int to
camera possibly to seduce audaicne.
Images; The full bleed image of Lady Gaga represents her unique and quirky personality. Through the mies-en-
scene of the image represents her and everything about her, her way of posing ,her makeup and minimal clothing.
The chains help represent how she's trapped some how in her old character of Lady Gaga and wants to break free
and have a fresh start in her career and personality. Throughout the image were presented with Lady Gaga trying to
impress us or draw the male audience in but being half naked and coving her breasts t0 seduce the audience.
However her short blonde hair represents how she's relaxed and calm about her personality juxtaposing against her
dramatic makeup which includes dark smokey eyes showing she enjoys getting dolled up to attack people.
3. VibeLayout; On the left side their is
a large side profile of 'Soulja
Boy' who's face/neck is
covered in graffiti-style
doodles, making the image
more artistic and representing
his vibes and personality.
Secondly the title of the article
is very large and central in the
page, there is a lot of negative
space surrounding it which
makes it stand out more to the
reader furthermore the
juxtaposition helps it be eye
catching for the audience.
There is then a short phrase
above the article, engaging the
reader to read further by asking
a question 'Can the king of
Ringtones sell his tween
following on the more mature
Soulja Boy?'. The writing is
spaced out over two articles,
with the first letter enlarged and
in the bold red colour.
Text; the main font on the
article page represents a graffiti
style to the audience referring to
his background,status and
personal life, A graffiti style font
has been used which is
inkeeping with the style/theme
of the artist. Instantly we can
understand what type of person
he is,and it refers to him being
possibly disrespectful of other
property and not caring. The red
shades in the text relate tho the
red shades in his tatters to link
earthing together. The actual
text and information on the
page is represented in tiny font
again representing the less
importance compared to the
image and large font. Swell as
this the name of the artist isn't
represented only in the first 2
words of the actual weighting
and its placed in red to make t
bolder but its not larger or very
eye-catching ,making it learn to
the audience that its not an
important aspect.
Small Details; The first letter of vibe is placed
in the top right hand corner but it some how is
blurred into the barcode to make it not stand
out as much but blend it.
Mode of address; The vibe you get front this
article is the friendly mode of address, The tone is
optimistic and comforting which is represented
through thee title ‘life of a shooting star’. and its also
indirect address as the image he's turned to the
side,to really represent the graffiti.
Images; The full bleed image of Soulja boy represents ‘swag’ written all over his face , which is a
visual representation of his personality and old and recent songs. The visual lettering is also overing
his face ,representing that he's no so famous so they can cover his face with something else as his
face isn't that noticeable and this creates it being noticeable, people mainly recognise him for his name
and not face. The white background helps make the image more noticeable and bold, and his red
tattoos is presented in the title and the colour scheme for his double page spread. the picture itself is
surrounded by a white border, inkeeping with the white background of the right hand page.
4. StatusLayout; The image is
bleeded over two pages
to make the image the
most important aspect.
Furthermore the title is
the most important
aspect of the page,being
the brightest thing which
draws the audiences
eyes in instantly. the
contrevesual title of
‘sex,drugs and pop
music’ instantly draws
people in, as their quite
offensive things to talk
about for some people
and this represent that
their ingestive and do
what they want. This also
relates to the fact when
your flicking through this
eye catching title will
allow the reader to want
to stop to this page.
Text; The main font is
made to look like the
neon tubes of coloured
lights,which is a usual
visual aspect of the
1975 and they are
know for create great
visuality in their shows
and album cover, so
this interesting title is
clearly supposed to
reflect their music and
their hole vibe in
general. In small ‘the
1975’ is placed in the
same shade of red as
the main tie,but placed
underneath the title
within the paragraph of
information about
them,the image is so
noticeable that we don't
need a visual
representation of who
they are we just
automatically know
who they are as they
are features of the
magazine so everyone
should.Small Details; The email address for
the magazines website is placed in
white font onto of one of the band
members jeans,which makes it stand
out but its tiny so hardly
noticeable, and next to that is the page
number.
Mode of address; You receive an in formal vibe from the
expletive and contrevesual title, they way their even studying
represents an informal manor as their are relaxed , also
informal clothing as Matty isn't even wearing a shirt theirs a
mixture of direct and indirect address.
Images; This image is represented in as ‘somebody else’ an ep they
once did, and the colour scheme reflects their cd covers and colour
scheme of he band. Furthermore the type of posing is almost feminine
in the way Matty is standing and leaning against the other male
member reflecting their opposite stereotypes to the music industry
norm on boy bands.
