What do you consider the aim of the campaign to be (to be entertaining, exciting, cool, interactive, build on
prior success, be totally unique, build on star success, Create a brand etc)
Mainly Rush as it would have the same target audience to gravity- young/middle males.
It would attract both action and sci fi lovers and male/female because the two main stars were male and
female.
It being a ’visual masterpiece’-having two genres really increased profit.
It had 2 major Hollywood names from different age groups- Sandra Bullock and George Clooney which
meant that it appealed to a variety.
Billboards- Everywhere had big gravity posters, on main roads, high streets, buses ect meaning that a lot of
people would be aware of the film.
Adverts- In football games, morning shows and tv adverts in general.
Trailer- The trailer made the film seem exciting, jam packed and gave a insight to its original story line
captivating viewers.
It was world wide.
I think the campaign was aimed to use star power and the concept of originality to an advantage. It was to
make the target audience as aware of the film as possible. They wanted to make sure that everyone knew
’gravity’.The name of the film also is quite confusing itself as gravity isn’ta object and they are in space so
what does it mean- which gives the idea you have to watch to find out.
