• A moose’s lifespan is about 15-25 years.
4. What to do if you see a moose
• Moose can be very dangerous, but their
eyesight isn’t great, so it is suggested that you
hide behind a tree, and be very still.

• Moose can run at speeds of 35 miles an hour.
• Moose antlers can spread out to 6 feet.
• Female moose do not have antlers.
• A moose’s antlers fall of once every year, and
then grow back again through out the year.

• Moose have a flap of skin under their chin
that is call a bell.
• Moose have no upper front teeth
• They have four parts to their stomach
8. Where did the moose originate from?
• The word moose is said to come from the
Algonquin word mooswa, which means “twig-
eater”.
• Over hundreds of thousands of years, moose
have migrated across Europe. There was a
very cold period in history, and during this
time, they moved to Alaska. After this, more
migration across North America continued.

10. Moose Season
• Moose tend to enjoy lakes and river in the hot
summer months.
• Moose like areas that were burned by forest
fires as they are good browsing areas.
• Moose like areas where there are plants, as
they eat very many different types (being
herbivores).
