MEETING MINUTE
7TH JANUARY, 2023
Opening
The regular meeting of the Liz McCarthy International School was called to order at 12 pm on January
7th
, 2023 in the staff common room by Mrs. Margaret Amoasi.

Approval of the Agenda
The agenda was unanimously approved as distributed
Approval of the minute
The minute of the previous meeting was unanimously approved as distributed
Business from the previous meeting.
I. The account office report.
2. The budget for 2023 has been finalized and was distributed by Mr. Clement Adu-Gyamfi, the bursar of
the school. He ran through an itemized of the line items, with board members asking questions
periodically. The main change from the 2022 budget was the increment in salary. The motion accepted
the revised budget, was seconded, and passed.
II. 2022 BECE Examination result.
The headmistress madam Joyce Donkor Mentioned that the result of the 2022 B.E.C.E examination has
been released and the student of Liz international school came out with flying colors. The student
performed tremendously, which has placed the school in the top 10 list of good schools in Koforidua.
This success couldn’t have been achieved without the hard work and support of our noble teachers. For
this reason, the school board has decided there will be some get-together party for the teachers and the
student to celebrate their success. All the members agreed and were seconded by the headmistress.
New business
School fees and extra classes’ mode of collection.
The headmistress made reference to the fact that parents are finding it difficult to pay their
word fees in full before the term ends. Collection of school fees and extra class fees has not
been an easy task, during the last term in the school. For this reason, she suggests that they
should be collected on a monthly basis whiles the extra classes fee will be collected on a daily
basis. All members agreed to the motion. The bursar encouraged the motion by saying that
daily collection of the extra class fee will ensure accountability and easy sharing of the money
among the teachers.
Increment of staff salaries.
The headmistress mentioned that there has been a 5% increase in salary from the previous
meeting. After a series of appeals for an increase in salaries, the school board decided to
increase the staff salaries by 5% across the board to motivate staff to work more efficiently. All
the members agreed to the change.
Purchase of ICT equipment
Madam Veronica Appiah mentioned that the ICT department needs some sets of new
computers for the ICT Laboratory to enhance the teaching of the subject. As it stands, there are
only 5 sets of computers for the whole school which is not enough for teaching and learning,
3. also when it comes to record keeping of the school. All the staff agrees to the motion and was
seconded by the headmistress.
PTA meeting notice
Madam Joyce Donkor announced the upcoming meeting. She entreated that all staff members
should make it a point to attend as the date will be communicated to all. This will be an
opportunity for teachers and parents to deliberate on issues of school fees, extra class fees,
school meals, and the performance of students. This was seconded by the school board
members.
Additions to the agenda.
Madam Lydia Asare made a motion that school meal manu must be discussed.
Sir Kingsley Hiebor dismissed the motion and proposed adding it to next month’s meeting
instead, as Madam Eunice Aquah was not in attendance. Mrs. Margaret Amoasi seconded the
motion and was added to the agenda for the next meeting.
