What are the arguments of the DOF article?
- The large consumption of sugary drinks increases the factor of overweight in
the country, due to this drink, overweight and obesity already represent a
health problem in our society, it is important to have the help of the
government( state policy) to achieve changes in our health, as well as
create actions for the improvement of this issue through the implementation
of special programs.
Which consistencies or inconsistencies did you find in the document?
- One inconsistency is to think that by stopping the consumption of this drinks
we are going to be healthy, the problem is not only with the food, the
problem is with our culture, the way our people consumes this types of food
in excess is because of our culture. Another consistency is to think that
hypertension and diabetes is due to drink sugary beverages, while in many
cases this diseases are inherited.
Which biases or errors did you find in the arguments (bad arguments, fallacies,
omissions, false inferences and deceptive statistics)?
- The general idea that this beverages provoke chronic diseases is a bad
argument or fallacies, not everyone that consumes this sugary beverages
2. will have obesity or diabetes, so thinking that like that makes this report a
paper with bad arguments and fallicies.
Can conclusions be drawn from the arguments?
- The conclusion to put a sugar tax in the beverages in order to stop obesity
doesn’t not have enough proof or validity in order to make it real.
Is the person’s point of view derived from his or her research?
- Yes, depending on his findings.
How are you ordering your own arguments (to avoid being unfocused)?
- Analyzing the variables that might have change during the test. We need to
take into consideration that even by “eliminating” the sugary beverages the
obesity won’t stop, it’s in our culture, we need to change the way of
educating the children.
