This document provides instructions for making three Halloween treats: 1) Butterfinger balls made of peanut butter, butter, powdered sugar, chopped Butterfinger bars, and white chocolate coating with M&M eyes. 2) "Daddy long legs" cupcakes made by frosting cupcakes with sprinkles, adding licorice eyes and legs. 3) Green "worms" made by pouring a gelatin mixture into straws, chilling, and pushing the gelatin out of the straws to form worms.

2. EYES
Halloween Butterfinger
Ingredients
1 cup creamy peanut butter
6 tablespoons butter, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
2 1∕8 ounces Butterfinger bar,
finely chopped
12 ounces white chocolate or
12 ounces vanilla candy coating
40 M&M's plain chocolate
candy
red food coloring or decorating
gel
black food coloring or
decorating gel

Halloween Butterfinger Directions
In a mixing bowl stir together
peanut butter and butter until
creamy.
Gradually add powdered sugar,
stirring until combined.
Stir in Butterfinger candy.
Shape into 1­inch balls; place on
waxed paper.
Freeze about 45 minutes.
Melt white chocolate in a double
boiler or get a med sauce pan
filled 1/4 of the way with water
and heat until simmering and
place a large glass or stainless
steel bowl over top and turn heat
off ­if water is boiling it will
scorch
chocolate.

Add chocolate to bowl, stir
constantly until melted and
smooth
Dip balls, one at a time, into
coating. Let excess coating
drip
off.
Place on waxed paper,
immediately press an M&M
onto center of each peanut
butter ball (you can also wait to
put M&M's on until after set
and
just use a dot of your piped
colored chocolate to adhere)
Refrigerate until coating is firm.

Using leftover white chocolate
add red food coloring until
desired color is reached (you
may have to reheat) and place
in a ziploc or pastry bag,cut a
corner very small, pipe
squiggly lines on eyes to
make
them look blood shot or use
red decorating gel.
Add a dot of black gel or black
food colored coating to the
center of M&M pieces for
pupils.

Ingredients
12 chocolate
cupcakes
12 ounces chocolate
frosting (canned)
1⁄2 cup chocolate
sprinkles (jimmies)
24 pieces bassetts
liquorice allsorts, will
be used for eyes, so
look for ones that
when cut have a
center
8 ounces black
licorice (the thin
"string" kind)

Directions
Frost the cupcakes with
chocolate icing and
cover with sprinkles.
Press the eyes into
place.
Use scissors to cut eight
4-inch pieces of licorice
for the legs (for each
spider).
Holding all of the legs
together in a bunch,
bend them in half and
crease.
Push the end of each
leg into the cupcake to
resemble spider legs.

1 (6 ounce) package
raspberry gelatin
powder or 1 (6 ounce)
package grape gelatin
3 (1/4 ounce) envelopes
unflavored gelatin
3 cups boiling water
100 flexible plastic
straws
1 tall slender 4 cup
container (same height
as extended straws)
3⁄4 cup whipping cream
12 -15 drops green food
coloring

In a bowl, combine
gelatins.
Add boiling water; stir
until gelatins completely
dissolve. Chill until
lukewarm, about 20
minutes.
Meanwhile, gently pull
straws to extend to full
length; place in tall
container.
Blend cream and food
coloring with the
lukewarm gelatin mixture.
Pour into container, filling
straws.

Chill until gelatin is firm, at
least 8 hours, or cover and
chill up to 2 days.
Pull straws from container (if
using a carton, tear carton
away from straws).
Pull straws apart; run hot tap
water for about 2 seconds
over 3 to 4 straws at a time.
Starting at the empty ends,
push worms from straws
with rolling pin, or use your
fingers; lay worms on waxed
paper-lined baking sheets.
Cover and chill until ready to
use, at least 1 hour or up to 2
days.
