2. What is a Web Tool?
• Web development tools (often called devtools) allow web developers to test and
debug their code. ... Web development tools allow developers to work with a
variety of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, the DOM, JavaScript, and
other components that are handled by the web browser.
3. 1. Web 1.0
• It is the “readable” phrase of the World Wide Web with flat data. In Web 1.0,
there is only limited interaction between sites and web users. Web 1.0 is simply
an information portal where users passively receive information without being
given the opportunity to post reviews, comments, and feedback.
Example:
- Shopping cart application, which most ecommerce sites use in some form, fall
under the category of web 1.0. The overall goal is to present products to potential
customers — much as a catalog or a brochure does — to anyone in the world. The
web provides the exposure. It removes the geographical restrictions associated with
brick-and-mortar businesses.
4. 1.1 Classic Example
Online Mp3juice.cc
Mp3juice is were users go to
download music or songs.
When you go to this site, you will
find list of songs from which you
can choose to download but
there is no option found where
you can review or comment
about the music you’ve
downloaded or the site.
Clearly there is no interaction
between the web user and the
site.
5. 2. Web 2.0
• It is the “writable” phrase of the World Wide Web with interactive data. Unlike
Web 1.0, Web 2.0 facilitates interaction between web users and sites, so it allows
users to interact more freely with each other. Web 2.0 encourages participation,
collaboration, and information sharing.
Examples of Web 2.0 applications are:
- YouTube,
- Wiki
- Flickr
- Facebook
- Whatsapp
- Instagram
6. 2.1 Classic Example
WhatsApp
It is a Web tool that is different
from 1.0 because now, there is
communication, interaction and
participation. Now you can
comment, send message, photos
and receive responses within the
same seconds, minutes or hour
anywhere.
Web 2.0 is more of participation
than been a passive consumer of
the internet.
7. 3. Web 3.0
• It is the “executable” phrase of Word Wide Web with dynamic applications,
interactive services, and “machine-to-machine” interaction. Web 3.0 is a
semantic web which refers to the future. In Web 3.0, computers can interpret
information like humans and intelligently generate and distribute useful content
tailored to the needs of users.
One example of Web 3.0 is Tivo, a digital video recorder. Its recording program can
search the web and read what it finds to you based on your preferences.
- GPS,
- Live streaming of video
8. 3.1 Classic Example
Facebook
The web 3.0 is the latest
version of the web tools
where the computer or the
internet responds by itself to
the user without being
commanded or controlled.
Example is the “People you
may know” feature that
sometimes pops up from
your Facebook account wall
whenever you log in.
It encourages participation
also.
