Animals need shelter like humans to protect themselves from the elements. Many animals build their own shelters using materials like thorns, ropes, cotton and dried grass, while others live in shelters provided by humans, trees, or caves. Some animals like ants build structures like hills out of soil to store food and survive rainy seasons.
