6. CSCMP’s Definition of Logistics & Supply Chain Management
Logistics Management
The part of supply chain management that plans, implements, and
controls the efficient, effective forward and reverse flow and
storage of goods, services and related information, between the
point of origin and the point of consumption in order to meet
customers' requirements.
Supply Chain Management
Supply chain management encompasses the planning and
management of all activities involved in sourcing and procurement,
conversion, and all logistics management activities.
Importantly, it also includes coordination and collaboration with
channel partners, which can be suppliers, intermediaries, third
party service providers, and customers.
In essence, supply chain management integrates supply and
demand management within and across companies.

Thank You For Attending!
24. Master of Science in Aviation and
Aerospace Sustainability (MSAAS)
Degree Briefing
Dr. Patti J. Clark
24
25. 25
Save me!
Is the MSAAS designed to save
butterflies and bunnies?
Help me!
Or is the MSAAS focused on sustaining
aviation and aerospace assets?
Have maintenance
meet us at the
gate.
Hmm….wonder if the skylights
actually save the airport money?
27. • Wait, what?
• Sustainability is a complex
concept and is focused not only
the environment and also factors
in economics as well as the social
well being of communities.
• “Sustainability is the ability to
meet the needs of the present
without compromising the ability
of future generations to meet
their own needs.”
27
The Goal!
28. • In the MSAAS our focus in the degree is not to provide a new
skillset, but to enhance the existing skills and decision making
processes of well-qualified professional students currently working
or seeking employment in the aviation or aerospace industry.
• How? By examining sustainability from the environmental,
economic and social aspects in aviation/aerospace associated
topics to arrive at more long term feasible solutions.
• As such, our goal is to provide students with a better understanding
of the long term implications of their decisions whether it is
purchasing a bolt for an aircraft or working on a design for a new
airport terminal
28
29. • What kind of jobs are applicable to MSAAS graduates?
• Remember sustainability is applicable to any industry
– Aviation Program Manager - $66-153k
– Supply Chain Process Improvement Specialist/Manager - $35-113k
– Sustainability Consultant - $54-104k
– Project Manager/Planner - $55-97k
– Operations Manager - $81-95k
– Sustainability Specialist - $46-80k

33. Degree Information
• An ideal student for the MSAAS degree holds an aviation or
aerospace related UG degree such as the BSA, BSTM, BSLSCM,
BSAvM, BSABA or other similar degrees.
• The degree fills a unique role in the aviation/aerospace industries.
Currently only one other university, the University of Manchester in
the UK, offers a related degree titled as MS in Sustainable Aviation.
• Most institutions offer sustainability as an area of concentration or
as an interdisciplinary degree to augment the focus of an UG
degree, i.e. environmental science, community planning and design
and not a standalone degree
33
34. Why choose ERAU for a Master’s degree?

The External Assessment Exam will be administered during Module Five for students in the College of Business. While the student’s score for this exam will not enter into the student’s final grade, the student will receive 10 points for taking and completing this exam. These 10 points will count towards the student’s final grade.
Cost of the exam is ~$32.00. After completing registration, be very careful when beginning the exam. Since this is an external assessment, once you start the exam, your instructor will not be able to reset it for you. You MUST complete and submit the exam once started.
Each student is asked to submit the certificate of exam completion to the course’s instructor.
The participation in the External Assessment Exam will be 10% of the final grade.
