8. How To Participate In order to be eligible to participate in the EMU Orientation First Four Scavenger hunt, you must be a 2011 Fall Semester Admit. Additionally, you will need to register for and have access to some commonly used online tools and applications. A “smart phone” is helpful, but not necessary. Please see the last slide for information regarding alternative ways to accomplish the tasks. The following slides detail the steps necessary to ensure that you are eligible to receive the rewarded prizes. Several prizes will be rewarded at random locations throughout the event along with a random final drawing for additional prizes based on overall participation.

Step 1 of 5: Accept the email invitation we sent you and create a profile in EMU’s Facebook App. You should have received an email from application@inigral.com with the subject line of “Invitation from Eastern Michigan University”. This is an invite-only community for EMU students exclusively, so check your email and get signed up in order to receive helpful tips and maybe make some new friends! If you have not received your invitation, please email us at EMU.AcadProg@gmail.com and let us know.

10. Step 2 of 5: Our Twitter account: http://twitter.com/EMU_AcadProg *Clues and other helpful information for this scavenger hunt will be sent via Twitter, so this is a critical step!

11. Step 3 of 5: Follow us on Foursquare You will be “checking-in” to various locations throughout the event and this will help you identify and learn more about them. Our Foursquare page: https://foursquare.com/emu_acadprog Then click on: You’ll be asked to register (it’s free) if you don’t already have an account.

12. Step 4 of 5: Register for your free Eagle Nation Rewards Card This card lets you start earning cool stuff just for attending EMU athletic eventsand other future activities. Sign up online here: http://bit.ly/EagleNationRewards

Step 5 of 5: Generate and print your unique QR code A QR code is one of these things… Just go here: http://bit.ly/EMU_QR_Code Fill in the form like this example with your First & Last name AND your emich.edu email. Click “Generate” & print. * We will use this to validate your identity AND as your entry for the final drawings so please test your printout to ensure it displays your info when scanned.
