2. In what ways does your media product
use, develop or challenge forms and
conventions of real media products?
The genre of my magazine is R&B/Hip-Hop, therefore I had researched many magazines with the same genre. I analysed a few
magazines in order to look out for conventions that I could use in order for my magazine to clearly emphasise the genre. From my
research I found out that the genres do not have a particular layout or theme that they must follow but tend to stand out because
they have similar conventions compared to others such as ‘VIBE’ and ‘R&B’.

3. In what ways does your media product use,
develop or challenge forms and
conventions of real media products?
My front cover which is placed on the left has many conventions such as a
Masthead. The image I have used is however covering the Masthead to show that
it is a common magazine in which the audience will be familiar about. The tagline
‘tunes.appearance.style’ follows on from the RNB magazine
‘MUSIC.LIFESTYLE.FASHION’ as they both relate to the genre. The straplines on
the top of the magazine includes names of famous artists that the audience will
be familiar about in which stand out from the blue background. I have balanced
out elements on the page so that everything is not clumped together in one
location which will help the audience recognise each important part. I have
repeated the use of the shapes of rectangles on the artist name ‘Samantha Davis’
and ‘Music.com’ to make it look unified and cohesive. This adds a sense of
controlled sophistication as it brings the page altogether as one. I have grouped
elements together in a logical way as I have placed an artist name on the right
hand side with a quote in an alignment. The image is a mid shot posing in a sexual
way as the facial expressions attracts females as he looks ‘good looking’. The cap
