2. Introduction
After creating my website, it was important for me to see how this website was responded to by
an audience. In the video, you can see that a sample of people have been asked to go through
the website and respond to a few questions regarding the suitability of the website for it’s
purpose to educate its audience about our company.
This presentation evaluates their answers and how this has helped me to judge whether or not I
have created a good website.
3. What do you think about the design of the
website?
Common appreciation shown for the structure of the website, being a one page site with easy access to
the different features with the use of the menu at the top, as well as good use of font and animated
background.
This is helpful for me because it shows that the website’s unique layout of being a mono-page site is
well received by the audience.
When creating the website, it was important for me to consider accessibility as one of the primary
focuses of what I wanted this website to have, therefore the group saying that it is user friendly shows
that I have achieved that goal.
The font and background were elements that I was most worried about. I wasn’t sure if they fitted with
the aesthetic of the video and I didn’t know if the animated background would end up looking
disorientating as opposed to stylistic. However, both ad been well-received by the audience, therefore
this risk has paid off.
4. Is the website user-friendly?
All agreed that the website is user friendly, highlights include that the group liked the formatted text
to indicate important details and the permanent appearance of the toolbar menu.
This question leads well from the previous point of having the accessibility of the features on the
website one of the primary goals that I had.
With the permeant tool bar menu at the top, it was difficult to find a colour that would accurately
show the names of each individual title on the screen across the different coloured backgrounds
shown throughout the page. In achieving this result however, it has lead to the end product
which the group found to be very helpful.
5. What information is missing from the page
that you would like to see?
Digipak layouts, behind the scenes information and cast information and opinions of the video.
I made the conscious decision to exclude the inclusion of my digipak layouts on the website. This
is because I wanted to keep the two separate, ensuring that the focus for the website remained
solely on the video and on our company.
Information about the cast is a good idea that I could’ve implemented. This would allow the
audience for the music video to have a more personal connection to the people that they are
watching.
6. Any other comments?
No additional comments, praise for creating a good website.
The praise for the creation of the website and the no additional comments indicates to me that I
have created a website that is well received by a sample of the public. When creating the website,
I also kept in mind the reception that the site would receive, seeing as if the website did not look
good to its audience, people would not be interested in the company nor the music video.
