3. The 2013 Ford F-150 ranks 2 out of 10 Full Size
Pickup Trucks. This ranking is based on our analysis
of published reviews and test drives of the Ford F150, as well as reliability and safety data.
With a vast range of body styles, engines and
equipment levels, auto reviewers say the 2013 Ford
F-150 is a top choice for anyone looking for a fullsize pickup.
5. The 2013 Ford F-150 has one of the most diverse engine
lineups among full-size pickups. It has four available engines,
ranging from a base V6 to a turbocharged V6 and two V8s. All
engines are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission
and either two- or four-wheel drive. Critics like the diversity of
the drivetrain options, saying that the base engine provides
more than adequate power for light work, while the V8s and
EcoBoost V6 have muscle for serious hauling and towing. They
also like the standard six-speed automatic transmission,
saying it shifts smoothly and helps the F-150 return
respectable fuel economy numbers. The optional 5.0-liter V8
averages an EPA-estimated 15/21 mpg city/highway, which is
decent for the class. The F-150 can tow up to 11,300 pounds,
which is among the highest of full-size pickup trucks. The F150 also receives an above-average safety score for the class.

8. The 2013 Ford F-150 is available in 10 different trims, ranging
from the XL base model to the new top Limited trim. A
dedicated off-road model, called the SVT Raptor, is also
available. The XL comes standard with manual windows and
mirrors and vinyl seats. Upper trims get power windows and
mirrors, cloth or leather seats, Ford’s SYNC and MyFord Touch
systems, navigation and a power sunroof. The F-150 regular
cab variants seat three, while SuperCab and SuperCrew cabs
seat up to six. There are three available bed lengths, four
engine choices and either two- or four-wheel drive. The F-150
was last redesigned in 2009. Since it hasn’t changed much
since then, this overview uses applicable research and
reviews from 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012, as well as 2013.
