53. In its golden jubilee year the Dainik Bhaskar group instituted
the “India Pride Awards”, the first ever awards to honour the
PSUs of India, for excellence. These one-of-a-kind awards follow
the processes of self-nomination and stringent jury selection.

India Pride Awards has been presided over by luminaries like
Shri. P. Chidambaram, Shri. Pranab Mukherjee, Shri. Montek
Singh Ahluwalia and Dr. M. Veerappa Moily.
54. The Dainik Bhaskar Women of the Year Awards is an initiative to
recognize the power of women in India. The Group believes in
woman empowerment and improving their status in the country.
This award appreciates achievements and extraordinary success,
as well as commendable work performed by women in their
respective fields.
The award has seen over 1,500 women participating across
4 categories: Social & Public Service, Arts & Culture, Business
and Professional.
55. Junior Editor aims to encourage the habit of reading
newspapers among the younger generation, by increasing
their involvement with the newspaper. 10 states, 42 cities
and 592 schools participated in it and 67,130 newspapers
were submitted.

57. An editorial and readers initiative.
“Jal Satyagrah”, Jal Hai toh Kal Hai (Water Movement - if there
is water, there is tomorrow) aims at motivating readers to save
15% of water from their daily usage.
To promote this cause, the group had also undertaken
various activities and organized a conference with experts
from UNICEF, UNESCO and the International Commission
on Irrigation and Drainage.
58. With the objective of enhancing greenery, the Dainik Bhaskar Group
initiated a plantation drive, which encourages people to plant at least
one sapling in their lifetime. The campaign, "Ek Ped Ek Zindagi", is
spread across Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand,
Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
In order to enhance the effectiveness of the campaign, Dainik Bhaskar
initiated a “Green Ambulance” where people call the Dainik Bhaskar
team to plant trees in their locality. The group has planted more than
2.36 lakh trees and aims to plant more than 25 lakh more trees.

59. Parinda - The Save Birds Campaign
The Dainik Bhaskar Group launched “Parinda” (Save Birds)
campaign to motivate readers to provide water and food to
birds during the summer. When the summer temperature
reaches 46-47 degrees, thousand of birds die due to lack of
drinking water and grains to eat.
The group came up with specially designed earthen pots
to hold water and grains. ‘Sikoras’ (earthen pots) were made
in consultation with the forest department & ornithologists.
These were distributed free of cost to readers who were
encouraged to keep them at their windows.
