3. W HY ???
To reduce dependency on fossil fuels.
To control pollution.
To avoid any further deterioration of the planet.
4. C ONCEPT
Conversion of mass flow energy of compressed
air into mechanical energy.
And using this mechanical energy to power our
bike.
Compressed Mechanical
Mechanism
Air Energy
6. STEP - 1
Compressed air filled cylinders are
taken.
These are seamless cylinders capable of
carrying air at 150bar. Conventionally carbon fibber
cylinders are best. Composite cylinder can also be a
another type which could be useful and economic
as well.
7. STEP - 2
The compressed air is supplied through hoses to
the pneumatic motor.
8. STEP - 3
The supplied air drives the pneumatic motor.
9. STEP - 4
The pneumatic motor drives a pinion mounted on the
central shaft. This pinion drives a wheel gear mounted
on a driving axle
10. STEP - 5
The wheel gear is mounted on the driving axle.
The driving axle carries a chain and sprocket
arrangement which transmits the power to the
variable gear unit mounted on the rear wheel.
11. STEP - 6
The power to the rear wheel is transmitted through the
variable gear unit. Initially when the bike is in the
starting position the largest gear is engaged offering the
maximum torque at the lowest rpm. Consequently as
the movement progress the lower gears are engaged
offering greater rpm at lower torque.
