Engineers need to make sure that their engineering projects are planned out perfectly in order to ensure that everything is produced quickly and inexpensively. The planning engineer determines the best possible method and sequence of engineering a particular project, whether it be a civil engineering project or a new type of machinery. During the developmental part of the engineering project, the planning engineer determines which techniques will be appropriate; determines the logistics of moving equipment and materials from location to location; draws up plans or communicates with technical illustrators to draw up plans; and estimates the price of the project.
This Certified Planning Engineer certification program is to recognize professionals who meet demanding requirements of planning and scheduling a project and who has worked alongside a project manager in delivering engineering types of project.
