Integrated treatment of Diabetes mellitus with Stem cells, IV
Laser, Laser treatment of pancreas, IV Ozone therapy and
personalized orthomolecular medicine
At Juventas Clinic Germany, between February 2010- June 2010 we treated 62 clinical
cases of type I and type II by using Xenogeneic stem cells, IV Laser blood irradiation,
Laser treatment of pancreas & certain body parts, IV ozone therapy, Post treatment
personalized low carbohydrate diet and orthomolecular supplements.
Patients consisted of children from the age of 9 years till 15 years of age, adolescents
and adults with a maximal age of 76 years. The average age of the patients was 52.5
years. Control groups of patients consisted of 3 patients for each age group. Daily
treatment regime lasted from 2 to 4 hours with alternating treatment modalities.
Control group( 9 patients) was kept on their usual diabetes medications and/or insulin
(which they were already taking).
HbA1c test was done on every patient before enrollment. Control tests of the blood
sugar level were done before and after each session of such multi-factorial therapy.
Blood tests for CRP (inflammation), Cholesterol, Thyroid hormones and Full blood count
were done before enrollment.
Treatment was essentially carried out in the morning and early afternoon. The total
period of treatment lasted from two weeks till 3 months, and in persistent cases, it was
prolonged till 3-5 months, and in an isolated case till 6 months. The average number of
treatment days was between 9 and 26 in the majority of cases, and in persistent ones -
between 35 and 68 in all.
RESULTS
Amongst those patients who used hypoglycemic tablets (metformin, glipizide,
pioglitazone, etc) there were 4 adolescents and 15 adults with no children in this
subgroup, whereas amongst those using insulin (novolog, humulin, lantus, etc), there
were 7 children, 4 adolescents and 32 adults.
Out of 19 patients using only hypoglycemic tablets, 18 patients (95%) could stop all
their anti-diabetic medications within 6- 9 weeks after the treatment program was over.
1 patient was unable to stop all his medications and had to be kept on minimum doses.
Out of 43 patients using insulin in some or other form, 30 patients (70%) could stop
their insulin injections within 8-14 weeks. In remaining 16 patients (30%) it was
possible to reduce their existing insulin doses by 75 to 80 % to just minimum
necessary. These difficult cases as a rule were having diabetes of more than 22 years
duration and/or with severe obesity.
Generally speaking, those with excess body weight and diabetic history of more than 15
years took more time to show clinical results.
As a rule, significant falls by 50 till 180 mg/100 ml (average being 130 mg/100 ml) in
the blood sugar level were observed after each session of combined treatment in 90.46
% of cases, except for those extreme cases of diabetes where the hyperglycemic level
persisted after the treatment session in 9.54 % of cases. However, in later treatment
courses, these resistant patients also reacted positively to their treatment after having
crossed a certain threshold value, and finally attained recovery.
Complications due to diabetes, such as various pain syndromes, diabetic cardio-
myopathy, nephropathy, neuropathy, diabetic foot with ulcers and angiopathic changes
as well as obesity disappeared practically completely and even impaired erectile
function was restored up to the male patient’s satisfaction and surprise. It should be
noted that in three cases where previous surgical intervention for skin grafting was
performed for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers, no satisfactory results had been
obtained. However, above described combo therapy during a period of 7 to 9 weeks
resulted into complete recovery of the diabetic ulcers with full soft tissue regeneration
and restoration of local blood circulation.
In all cases that were able to successfully discontinue their medications, independent of
the type of diabetes, where the patients observed all the dietary and lifestyle
recommendations given to them, the blood sugar level was normalized completely, and
the patients don’t need any more insulin or hypoglycemic tablets. More than 55 % of
them could return to a normal dietary regimen, eating and drinking sweet products in
reasonable amounts. The rest (45 %) of the patients had to observe certain diet
restrictions (low carbohydrate diet), but they did not have to take any medications for
maintaining a normal life.
Of all patients who underwent the integrated treatment for diabetes mellitus, there was
no apparent side effect in any case. On the contrary there was a significant
improvement in general health condition in 100 % cases (62 patients). Those having
high blood pressure could see their blood pressure come down towards normal levels
and accordingly blood pressure medications were either stopped or doses decreased.
Obese patients experienced an average weight loss of between 6 to 13 kgs within 8-12
weeks. All patients reported increase in energy levels, disappearance of fatigue
episodes, and general mood. 4 patients reported improvement in their vision (visual
acuity).
Control group- 9 Control patients who did not participate in this study, did not report
any improvement in their existing diabetic condition. There was no change in their
blood sugar levels and existing diabetes medications regime (oral hypoglycemic
tablets/insulin).
FOLLOW-UP
Even though the follow-up of this study is relatively short-term one, i.e. for a period of
not more than five years in total, in 95 % cases (those previously on oral diabetes
medications) and 70 % cases (those previously on insulin), neither a recurrence of
pathological hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) or need to restart diabetes medications
nor another apparent manifestation of diabetes mellitus has been reported in any of the
patients who were treated by the combination therapy.
CONCLUSIONS
First – The most important conclusion made during this clinical study is that even in
advanced cases of diabetes mellitus, the pancreas retains its ability to restore the
functional possibilities of its tissues as well as their regeneration, specifically the insulin-
producing β-cells of the Islets of Langerhans. Otherwise, without the functional
restoration and structural regeneration of these islet cells, it would have been
impossible to bring down the blood glucose level to normal values without the use of
any hypoglycemic medications.
Second- the combination treatment method is effective in treating diabetes mellitus at
all its stages, except for terminal stages when structural and functional pathological
changes acquire an irreversible character.
Third- this treatment gives much better results than those obtained till now with the
help of surgical methods (transplantation of the pancreas β-cells) or therapeutical ones
(use of hypoglycemic tablets or exogenous insulin injections).
Fourth- this integrative method of treatment shows other advantages namely- absence
of any harmful side-effects, non-invasiveness, its higher efficacy and multitude of other
health benefits.
Fifth- As compared to surgical transplantation of pancreas this treatment is economical
and significantly safer. As per the statistics, one out of three attempts for surgical islet
transplantation is not successful (33 % failure rate).
