six years or has a record of at least two passed-out batches.
• Provided the College is affiliated to a University recognized
by UGC for the purposes of affiliation.
(Constituent college of a Private and Deemed-to-be University is considered as the
constituent unit of the University and thus will not be considered for A & A
independently. Such constituent college needs to come along with the University)
• College received the status of Autonomy by UGC.

shore campuses.
• The institution intending to apply for Assessment and Accreditation by NAAC
must upload the information on All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE)
portal. AISHE code (reference number) is one of the requirements for
Registration.

• Institutions, seeking improvement in the accredited status, may volunteer for
re-assessment, after a minimum of 01 year or before 03 years of
accreditation.
• The current procedures, methodology and the manual for A & A is will be
same.
• However, the institution shall make specific responses based on the
recommendations made by peer team in the previous accreditation report,
as well as the specific quality improvements made by the institution in the
intervening period.
• The fee structure and other procedures would be the same with the
exception that the Institutions that volunteer for re-assessment will not be
eligible for fee waiver and reimbursement of accreditation expenses.

Extension of validity period of NAAC accreditation from five years to seven
years may be given to those institutions which have concurrently obtained
highest grade* for two cycles and again obtains highest grade in the third cycle
also.
*The institutions graded with A++ and A+ (3.51 and above out of 4) would be
considered as the highest accreditation.
In the case of institutions which have or have NOT applied for reaccreditation
within the stipulated period of six months before the expiry of accreditation, the
gap period between two consecutive accreditation will be condoned, up to a
maximum of one year.

If there is any discrepancy / factual error, then a Deviation Report is

• On announcement of the A & A outcome, the institution not satisfied with the
accreditation status may submit :
• A letter of intent for appeal along with a request to provide the criterion wise
scores so as to reach NAAC within 30 days from the receipt of the letter
intimating the accreditation status from NAAC.
• The application for Appeal in the format prescribed by NAAC should reach
NAAC within 30 days from the date of receipt of the criterion wise scores
from NAAC.
• The requisite non-refundable fee of Rs. 1,00,000 plus GST @ 18%.
• No correspondence / phone calls will be entertained on the matter till the
appeal is disposed of by the Appeals Committee / final decision taken by
EC of NAAC.
