Professor Bikha Ram Devrajani is a physician who currently serves as the Vice Chancellor of Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences in Jamshoro, Pakistan. He has over 28 years of clinical and teaching experience and holds medical degrees from Pakistan, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Throughout his career, Professor Devrajani has held numerous leadership roles, published over 100 research papers, and received several awards for his contributions to medicine and education.

March 1962, passed Primary education
from village school, Matriculation 1977 Govt. High School Tando Jam, Intermediate
1979 from Govt. Muslim Science College Hyderabad, MBBS 1986 Liaquat Medical
College (LMC) Jamshoro. He has qualified FCPS in 1998.
Currently working as a Vice Chancellor, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences
(LUMHS), Jmashoro.
Past working places. Consultant Physician, CHAIRMAN DEPARTMENT OF MEDICINE and Director Sindh
Institute Of Endocrinology & Diabetes. Remained Director Medical Research Center(from03-06-
2011 To 12-05-2016) at Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences, Jamshoro / Hyderabad,

HYDERABAD and has clinical and teaching experience of about 28 years.
He is supervisor of FCPS Medicine (College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan) and also
supervisor of MD – Medicine (Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro). He is a
supervisor of Allama Iqbal Open University, Pakistan for M.Sc. He has supervised 50 postgraduates. He is
examiner of college of physicians and surgeons, Pakistan (CPSP) and International Examiner for
Bangladesh College of Physician & Surgeons (BCPS). He is acting as lead person for online diploma in
Family Health Care for General Practitioner. He is a research facilitator of college of physicians and surgeons,
Pakistan. He has approximately 111 research papers published in national as well as international Journals
& more than 650+ citations of his research (his cumulative impact factor is about 40). He is a
Master Inspector of PMDC for Medical Colleges. He acts as a FOCAL PERSON /facilitator of Hepatitis
Prevention of control program, Sindh (Chief Minister’s Initiative) for hepatitis B, C and D. He has trained
about five hundred (500) General practitioner of Sindh for management of Diabetes Mellitus
according to the IDC (International Diabetic Center) guidelines. He remained the chairman Sindh chapter
for “ Role Back Malaria” by WHO. He is conducting live health programs on different media for public

Similar). He is the life member of Pakistan Medical Association (PMA).He is also member of ASIA-PACEFIC
NEUROENDOCRINES TUMOR SOCIETY (AP-NETS). He is also faculty member of Pakistan Society for
Study of Liver Diseases (PSSLD), Thar Development committee constituted by Government of
Sindh, American Association of Clinical Endocrinologist, National working group for Diabetic
Retinopathy, Pakistan Obesity Society, Cardiometabolic Forum of Pakistan and Rotary Club
Hyderabad. He is temporary Advisor of WHO-EMRO Region of Diabetic Retinopathy. His chief fields
of interest are Liver diseases, Diabetes Mellitus and Neurological disorders.
In the community services he has organized and attended more then 100 free Medical Camps in
the remote Areas of Sindh Province including free Surgical Eye Camps. He has also build Noori Hospital
at Kenjhar Lake and bearing running expenses. He has renovated and upgraded his Units in Hospital with
all facilities including BLS Skill Lab, e-Library Diabetic Foot Clinic, Diabetic Retinopathy Screening
Clinic (HMS system, first ever in the country), and High Dependency Unit with his own resources. He
is participating in running the Schools in the Remote Areas of Sindh.
He has presented more than 37 in national and international conferences including DDW, APASL,
EASL, ADA, IDF and etc. He is Editor in Chief, World Journal of Medical Sciences, Associate Editor in chief,
Middle East Journal of Scientific Research, co-editor in chief, Global Journal of Pharmacology and editorial
board member, World Applied Sciences Journal and Editorial board member of World Journal of
Hepatology Reviewer of more than 20 National and International Journals.
He is Innovative in Academics. He has framed the rules/ regulations and curriculum of M.Phil
leading to Ph.D (one month salary is awarded in this regard by the academic council) and, MSc
Diabetes and Endocrines Curriculum, Diploma in Family Health Care and he also acts as Lead Person for
the same program. He is the member of core committee of curriculum MBBS (2011) constituted by HEC and
PMDC. He is member of provincial bioethical committee (PBC) and he was the key person for establishing
the Forensic DNA laboratory at LUMHS first ever in the province. He has been offered the position of dean
Aga Khan University Karachi in 2015 but he has refused for the sake of poor masses of the country.
He has been awarded Best University Teacher Award for the Year 2011 by the Higher Education
Commission Pakistan.
He has been awarded direct fellowship by American College of Physicians (FACP) on 1st
September 2012.
