EXPERIENCE • Please note that upon request I can make available by “scan” an “experience and
project list” which is representative of comprehensive experience since working
with MBP for the past seven years.
Combined experience as a designer, project manager, facility engineer, design
reviewer, construction administrator, commissioning agent and energy manager for
MBP, Inc. Responsible for all aspects of construction administration and project
management for new construction and renovation projects valued at a range of $1,000
to $150,000,000. Negotiated A & E fees for project design. Provided cost estimate
for projects. Worked with Architects and Engineers, providing comments and contract
document review during the design phase of projects. Coordinated scheduling of
construction, conducted pre-bid and preconstruction conferences. Performed daily
construction inspections and submitted weekly progress reports. Worked with
Architects and Engineers to solve any problems that arose during construction.
Administered and negotiated all change orders. Provided final punch list for projects.
•Acted as energy manager for Norfolk Public Schools with total energy expenditures
of approximately $5,000,000. Saved $460,000 in energy cost annually during
tenure at the school system. Submitted a detailed report with all pertinent
calculations indicating savings. Researched and implemented a new energy
management software program for the school system.
• Combined experience as a project manager and consulting engineer for the complete
mechanical design for various mechanical systems including chilled and hot water
hydraulic systems, LP and HP steam distribution, VAV systems, D/X package and
split system cooling, heat pump systems (geothermal, water-to-air, air-to-air),
industrial heating and ventilation, gas distribution systems, fuel oil systems, DDC
control systems, building energy management systems, induction HVAC systems,
and compressed air systems.

• Performed energy economic analysis for various mechanical systems.
Implemented variable speed pumping and fan use for peak demand and normal
energy savings.
Familiar with energy ratchets and variable rate structures.
• Developed indoor air quality (IAO) strategies and system solutions for educational
facilities concerning these politically volatile “buzz words”. Interacted with
principals, teachers and school administrators throughout these studies and designs.
*Designed and retrofit direct digital control systems for educational facilities
Including central plant control for municipalities in Norfolk, Virginia Beach,
Chesapeake, Newport News, Hampton, Dinwiddie County, Front Royal and York
County, Virginia.
*Computed cost estimates and wrote specifications.
*Project Manager for new construction and renovation contracts valued at a range of
$10,000 to $150,000,000.
