The Business Development Manager:

Purpose
The role of business development is critical to
the long-term growth of an enterprise. It is the
strategic and nerve centre for the planning,
execution and monitoring of high-growth
scalable business.
More importantly, the business development
function has to evolve over the various stages of
a business entity (from startups, SMEs to large
enterprises); with focus ranging from organic
development, collaboration to mergers and
acquisitions.
This workshop provides business development
professionals with overall perspective,
complemented by useful methodologies and
tools; and taught by Faculty with more than 20
years experience in business development.

Programme Faculty
NEO Kok-Beng is a innovation educator, innovator and entrepreneur. He is currently Associate
Professor (Adjunct) at the NUS Business School & NUS Faculty of Engineering; and is also on the
Faculty of Lean LaunchPad for NUS Enterprise. He is also the Faculty of Innovation for Economic
Development at the Harvard Kennedy School; and was Associate Faculty for Science, Technology &
Globalization. He is also on the Academic Committee & Faculty of the Singapore-Stanford Biodesign.
He has conducted lectures and work closely with Steve Blank (on Lean LaunchPad), Yves Pigneur &
Alex Osterwalder (on Value Proposition Design & Business Model Canvas). He has delivered lectures
and workshops globally including Harvard, Stanford, NUS, NTU, SMU, SUTD, A*STAR & SPRING. He
sits on various advisory panels innovations; such as NRF, SPRING, IRAS and Design-Health Barcelona.
He held strong and numerous business development roles from junior to senior levels for more
than 20 years; including Vice President (New Business), Director of Business Development, BD
Manager, Regional Marketing Manager and Product Manager in the electronics, information
technology, corporate office and strategic investments.
He catalysts several ventures in the medical technology, 3d printing, astronomy , internet of things;
and has received recognitions of such innovations; including the Presidents’ Design Award, NUS
Enterprise and Innovation Awards, and the US Veterans Affairs Innovation Initiative Award.
