process department in a turnaround/new construction site and Offshore anywhere in the USA.
PROFESSIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE: As a Safety Coordinator, I have the ability to
administer the safety and health program on a project and maintain liaison with client’s
representatives.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: To ensure compliance for company and client requirements
in safety rules, policies and procedures as well as for Federal OSHA Construction Standards.
Also, advise craft supervisors & employees in the enforcement and understanding of said
programs and standards. Additional responsibilities in the job site include audits, inspections, &
employee observations; hazard recognition, evaluation & control; hazardous materials
management; health hazard control; fire protection and prevention; safety training and education;
first aid administration; accident/incident investigation; reporting and recordkeeping. Certified
PA Permit writer.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS: 1968 graduate from Lincoln High
School in Port Arthur, TX and attended Lamar University for two years before I enlisted in the
USAF in 1969 where I attended Air Force Fire Fighting Academy and received an Honorable
Discharge in 1973. I also attended Texas Southern University and studied Industrial Safety from
'73-'76 but did not acquired a degree. I have been in the firefighting, industrial construction and
administration since 1969 and managed to acquire the following training and certificates: OSHA
30 & OSHA 10 Hour Courses in accordance with 29CFR Part 1926 Construction Industry,
Firefighter Certification, Respiratory Protection Program, Hydrogen Sulfide Safety Program,
Forklift Safety, Confined Space Entry, Scaffold User Safety, Fall Protection & Prevention
Programs, Back Care Safety, Fire Protection/Prevention Programs, Anti-Harassment and
Discrimination Training, Adult CPR & First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogens. I have a TWIC
card and had a secret US Government clearance for 10 years, can qualify for another clearance.
