ARCHITECTURE TO HIM?
“architecture is a curious craft !”
“one structure may follow all the laws of design ,yet be worth less ,while still another may beak all the principles and be profound !”
“A building may be bad without doing anything wrong ,yet another work may have to sin against architecture to reach perfection .”

“To gain something beautiful one may
have to give up something beautiful’’.
“It is better to be what you are,
than to seem what you are not”.
Truth is the ultimate search of all
artists. Even then I feel, “It is better to
Search the good ,than to know the
truth”.“There is only one form of
good luck, which is having
good teachers!”. “Don't be euphoric when people praise
you, or depressed when people criticize
you!”.

18. Student centre
q Design is based on folded Retaining wall.
q The wall folds into 6 vertical light shafts,
reaching up into the sky.
q Each shaft holds a room , or a large
activity niche.
q Large sky lights are cupped in the stone
shafts.

SUZLON ONE EARTH
37. qThis significantly unique office is designed based on architect and has received LEED
Platinum rating in 2010.
q He and his partner came up with the concept “Office in the garden”.
qSpread over 10 acres, this magnificent structure is one of the largest green building
projects of the country and is also one of the India’s first buildings to be LEED
(Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified.
38. Suzlon one earth is almp 100% powered by
onsite and offsite renewable sources.
The campus has 18 hybrid wind turbines- l 7%
of the total energy consumption, the rest of
energy demand is met from offsite wind
turbines.
Ensure maximum daylight exposure - reduces
artificial lighting consumption.
The infrastructure within the campus - to enable
water percolation and thereby control storm
water runoff thus, contributing towards an
increased water table level.
39. q Suzlon Energy Limited, a world-leading wind energy
company based in Pune India.
q The architect, pledged to create the greenest office
in India. Living the motto of the company, 'powering
a greener tomorrow.
q The architect relied exclusively on non-toxic and
recycled materials.
q A million S.F. of ground plus two levels in a 10.4 acre
urban setting achieved a LEED Platinum and TERI
GRIHA 5 Star certification with 8 percent of its
annual energy generated on-site through
photovoltaic panels and windmills with a total
incremental cost of about 11%.
Rating and techiniques:
40. q 154 KW of electricity is produced on site (80% wind and
20% photovoltaic).
q All other energy (4MW) is produced in the client's wind
mill farms. With 92% (4 MW) being consumed by the
project is sustainable energy making this a Zero Energy
Project.
q Lighting of individual offices is controlled by combined
daylight and occupancy sensors.
q Sixty five percent of energy is saved by use of LED
outdoor light systems in comparison to conventional scheme.
q 30 to 40% reduction in operating cost, due to to energy
savings and water savings at 30%.
41. Architecture features:
Inspiration -historical campuses like Fatehpur
Sikri and the Meenakshi Temple complex in
Madurai.
Design elements of critical rationalism- over
hangs, louvers, pergolas, courtyards
water and natural light permeation.
Design provides - 75% of the work stations
with and external views
Aluminum louvers - allows daylight and cross
ventilation.
As a result of sustainabilityand hot dry climate
shape is longer , thinner and lower, increase
the ratio of fration to volume, enhance natural
light and ventilation
