1. ALL ABOUT TESLA : BRIEF
INFORMATION
INTRODUCTION:
Tesla is an American multinational automotive and clean energy
company which is headquartered in Austin, Texas. Tesla
designs and manufactures electric vehicles (electric cars and
trucks), battery energy storage from home to grid-scale, solar
panels and solar roof tiles, and related products and services.
Tesla is one of the world`s most valuable companies and
remains the world`s most valuable automaker with a market
capitalization of more than US$550 billion.
WHEN WAS TESLA INCORPORATED?
Tesla was incorporated in July 2003 by Martin Eberhard and
Marc Tarpenning as Tesla Motors. The company`s name is a
tribute to inventor and electrical engineer Nikola Tesla. In
February 2004, via a $6.5 million investment. Elon Musk
2. become the largest shareholder of the company. He has served
as CEO since 2008.
WHAT IS THE MAIN AIM OF TESLA:
According to Elon musk, the purpose of Tesla is to help expedite
the move to sustainable transport and energy, obtained through
electric vehicles and solar power. Tesla began production of its
first car model, the Roadster sports car, in 2009. This was
followed by the Model S sedan in 2012, the Model 3 sedan in
2017, and the Model Y crossover in 2020. The Model 3 is the all-
time bestselling plug-in electric car worldwide, and, in June
2021, became the first electric car to sell 1 million units
globally. Tesla's global sales were 936,222 cars in 2021, an 87%
increase over the previous year, and cumulative sales totaled
3 million cars as of August 2022. In October 2021, Tesla's
market capitalization reached $1 trillion, the sixth company to
do so in U.S. history.
Tesla has been the subject of many lawsuits, increasing
government scrutiny, journalistic criticism, and public
controversies arising from statements and acts of CEO Elon
Musk and from allegations of creative accounting, whistle-
blower retaliation, worker rights violations, and unresolved and
dangerous technical problems with their products.
TESLA UNDER MUSK :
3. In 2012 Tesla stopped production of the Roadster to concentrate
on its new Model S sedan, which was acclaimed by automotive
critics for its performance and design. It came with three
different battery options, which gave estimated ranges of 235 or
300 miles (379 or 483 km). The battery option with the highest
performance gave an acceleration of 0 to 60 miles (96 km) per
hour in slightly more than four seconds and a top speed of 130
miles (209 km) per hour. Unlike the Roadster, which carried its
battery system at the back of the car, the Model S had its
underneath the floor, which gave extra storage space in back
and improved handling because of its low centre of gravity; this
battery placement was used on later Tesla models. The Tesla
Autopilot, a form of semiautonomous driving, was made
available in 2014 on the Model S (and later on other models).
Beginning in 2012, Tesla built stations called Superchargers in
the United States and Europe designed for charging batteries
quickly and at no extra cost to Tesla owners. Later versions of
those stations also had the capability of complete replacement of
the Model S battery pack.
Tesla released the Model X, a “crossover” vehicle (i.e., a vehicle
with features of a sport-utility vehicle but built on a car chassis),
in 2015. The Model X had a maximum battery range of about
340 miles (547 km) and seating for up to seven.

Business Strategy of Tesla :
At the time of Tesla's founding in 2003, electric vehicles were very
expensive. In 2006, Elon Musk stated that Tesla's strategy was to
first produce high-price, low-volume vehicles, such as sports cars,
for which customers are less sensitive to price. This would allow
them to progressively bring down the cost of batteries, which in
turn would allow them to offer cheaper and higher volume cars.
Tesla's first vehicle, the Roadster, was low-volume (fewer than
2,500 were produced) and priced at over $100,000. The next
models, the Model S and Model X, are more affordable but still
luxury vehicles. The most recent models, the Model 3 and the
Model Y, are priced still lower, and aimed at a higher volume
market, selling over 100,000 vehicles each quarter. Tesla
continuously updates the hardware of its cars rather than waiting
for a new model year, as opposed to nearly every other car
manufacturer.
Who is the wife of Elon Musk:
8. Jennifer Justine Musk.
Justine Musk was born in South Africa and immigrated to
Canada with her family at the age of five. She grew up in a
small town in Ontario and attended a Catholic high school.
After graduation, she moved to Toronto to attend the University
of Toronto. It was there that she met her future husband, Elon
Musk.
Justine and Elon were married in 2000 and have six children
together. Justine has said that she is a stay-at-home mom and
her focus is on raising her children. However, she has also said
that she is very interested in fashion and has her own style blog.
Who is the Eldest son of Elon Musk:
9. Alexander Musk is the eldest son of tech entrepreneur Elon
Musk. He was born in 2002, making him 18 years old as of 2020.
Not much is known about Alexander, as he has largely stayed
out of the public eye. However, it is clear that he is very close
with his father and adores him, often referring to him as “the
best dad ever. “In 2018, Alexander made headlines when he
accompanied his father to the red carpet premiere of the film
“Vice.” The two were all smiles as they posed for photos
together. It was a rare public appearance for Alexander, and
showed that he is supportive of his father’s work. Elon Musk
has five children in total. In addition to Alexander, he has twins
Griffin and Xavier (born 2004), and triplets Damian and Kai
(born 2006). He also has a son, Nevada, from a previous
relationship. All of Musk’s children live with him and their
mother, Canadian author Justine Wilson. Musk has said that
being a father is one of the most important jobs he has. He
strives to be a good role model for his kids and set a good
example for them to follow. He has also said that he wants his
10. children to be happy and fulfilled in whatever they choose to do
with their lives.
From the early 2000s until late 2020, Musk resided in
California, where both Tesla and SpaceX were founded. In
2020, he moved to Texas, saying that California had become
"complacent" about its economic success. While
hosting Saturday Night Live in May 2021, Musk said that he
has Asperger syndrome
Musk met his first wife, Canadian Justine Wilson, while
attending Queen's University in Ontario, Canada; and they
married in 2000. In 2002, their first child died of sudden infant
death syndrome at the age of 10 weeks. After his death, the
couple decided to use IVF to continue their family. They had
twins in 2004 followed by triplets in 2006. The couple divorced
in 2008 and shared custody of their children. In 2022, one of the
twins officially changed her name to reflect her gender identity,
and to use Wilson as her last name because she no longer wished
to be associated with Musk. In an October 2022 interview
with FT.com, Musk blamed the estrangement of his daughter on
what the Financial Times characterized as "the supposed
takeover of elite schools and universities by neo-Marxists."[430]
In 2008, Musk began dating English actress Talulah Riley. They
married two years later at Dornoch Cathedral in Scotland. In
2012, the couple divorced, before remarrying the following
year. After briefly filing for divorce in 2014, Musk finalized a
second divorce from Riley in 2016. Musk then dated Amber
Heard for several months in 2017; he had reportedly been
pursuing her since 2012. Musk was later accused by Johnny
Depp of having an affair with Heard while she was still married
to Depp. Musk and Heard both denied the affair.
In 2018, Musk and Canadian musician Grimes revealed that
they were dating. Grimes gave birth to their son in May
11. 2020. According to Musk and Grimes, his name was "X Æ A-
12"; however, the name would have violated California
regulations as it contained characters that are not in the modern
English alphabet, and was then changed to "X Æ A-Xii". This
drew more confusion, as Æ is not a letter in the modern English
alphabet. The child was eventually named X AE A-XII Musk,
with "X" as a first name, "AE A-XII" as a middle name, and
"Musk" as surname. In December 2021, Grimes and Musk had
a second child, a daughter named Exa Dark Sideræl Musk
(nicknamed "Y"), born via surrogacy. Despite the pregnancy,
Musk confirmed reports that the couple were "semi-separated"
in September 2021; in an interview with Time in December
2021, he said he was single. In March 2022, Grimes said of her
relationship with Musk: "I would probably refer to him as my
boyfriend, but we're very fluid." Later that month, Grimes
tweeted that she and Musk had broken up again but remained
on good terms. In December 2022, Musk claimed that the
couple's son had been harassed by a stalker. This led to Musk
banning the Elon Jet Twitter account as well as journalists that
posted stories which according to Musk, equated to doxing. The
police do not believe there is a link.
In July 2022, Insider published court documents revealing that
Musk had had twins with Shivon Zilis, director of operations
and special projects at Neuralink, in November 2021. They were
born weeks before Musk and Grimes had their second child via
surrogate in December. The news "raise questions about
workplace ethics", given that Zilis directly reported to
Musk. Also in July 2022, The Wall Street Journal reported that
Musk allegedly had an affair with Nicole Shanahan, the wife of
Google co-founder Sergey Brin, in 2021, leading to their divorce
the following year. Musk denied the report.
