This is a Basic Guide about SAP. Mainly this is for Beginners just like me. I have created this through my personal experience and research.

Who Started
SAP, started in 1972 by five former IBM employees in Mannheim, Germany, states that

SAP Modules in Details
SAP FI (Finance) : Finance module consider to be the base module. It covers vital areas
such as General Ledger (GL), Account payable (AP), Account Receivable (AR) and Asset
Accounting (AA). SAP FI and CO together known as FICO and it is consider as King of SAP
modules.
Controlling (CO): Controlling is kind of sister module for FI. Controlling mostly use for

2. internal controlling and internal reporting. It includes cost center accounting, (CCA),
Profit center accounting (PCA) Product costing (PC), Profitability Analysis (COPA) and
Internal Order (IO).
Sales & Distribution (SD): SD is predominantly controls sales and it is also heavily tied
up with MM. It controls customer master data, sales, plants, sales organizations and
sales conditions.
Human Resource (HR) : HR modules handles all human resource activities such as
resource hiring, salary, employee benefits etc. It is highly integrated with FI and CO
modules.
Project System (PS) : Project system module is a special for project related activities. It
comprise budgeting, planning, forecasting, work breakdown structure for projects. PS
module is again highly integrated with FICO modules.

SAP Implementation Process
The implementation of your SAP System covers the following phases:
Project Preparation
In this phase you plan your project and lay the foundations for successful
implementation. It is at this stage that you make the strategic decisions crucial to your
project:
Define your project goals and objectives
Clarify the scope of your implementation
Define your project schedule, budget plan, and implementation sequence
Establish the project organization and relevant committees and assign resources
Business Blueprint
In this phase you create a blueprint using the
Question & Answer database (Q&Adb), which documents your enterprise’s
requirements and establishes how your business processes and organizational structure
are to be represented in the SAP System. You also refine the original project goals and

4. objectives and revise the overall project schedule in this phase.
Realization
In this phase, you configure the requirements contained in the Business Blueprint.
Baseline configuration (major scope) is followed by final configuration (remaining
scope), which can consist of up to four cycles. Other key focal areas of this phase are
conducting integration tests and drawing up end user documentation.
Final Preparation
In this phase you complete your preparations, including testing, end user training,
system management, and cutover activities. You also need to resolve all open issues in
this phase. At this stage you need to ensure that all the prerequisites for your system to
go live have been fulfilled.
Go Live & Support
In this phase you move from a pre-production environment to the live system. The most
important elements include setting up production support, monitoring system
transactions, and optimizing overall system

WHO CAN PURSUE SAP.....??
Before dive into what it takes for an SAP course, it's important to understand how the
courses are set up. SAP courses are separated into two kinds of courses, one more
technical and the other more functional. Even though one will be learning similar
transaction and authorization codes related to Individual field, your course content can
vary greatly due to the nature of the courses.
The technical kind focuses on SAP programming and SAP module customization. Certain
roles that mix technical and functional skills, such as business analysts, also make use of
the industry solutions, workflow, and project system SAP modules.Technical courses are
recommended if you have a computer science, programming, or developer background.
The functional side mainly deals with using the actual SAP modules for a business role.

year approx. Experience of one year candidate can expect up to 8 lac P.A. Skills that are
associated with high pay for this job are SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM), SAP Supply
Chain Management (SAP SCM), SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM),
SAP Production Planning (SAP PP), and SAP SAP Financial Accounting and Controlling
