4. THE MEETING
• Vyasraj - The Amount cannot be considered as business expense because paying a
bribe. Does legitimacy make things ethical? Large companies deliberate mistake in
bank transfers.
• Abhi Deora - This payment cannot become unethical as we are handling fairly from
the start. I am not taking what belongs to another. I am only getting my business
back home. I will ask our law firm to pay the four and add it to their bill.
5. THE MEETING (CONTD.)
• Harsh – Stop being Dramatic. I have handled enough situation like this sum of 4
lakhs is chicken feed.
• Sarbesh Bajaj - Forgive me. I am the one who face the income tax people at last; To
convince them either I should have conviction or the act itself should be convincing.
As long as it is not illegal I’m fine with it.
6. THE MEETING (CONTD.)
• Devesh - It is not bribe as this is not payment for a competitive advantage. Our
license impounded based on a misleading testimony. The definition of ethical
depends on our context. Now it is either to pay and move forward or Don’t pay and
shutdown. We would like to adopt fair means but we didn’t have any other way to
save the business. So lets make the payment and take the tax hit.
• Kapil Kulsreshtha - This sort of bribing is OK, if litigant himself is trying to make
a fast buck from damages. Every organization is resort to dirty tactics. In personal
lives, We would never do such things. But we have a business to run. Where is the
problem when we pay taxes.
10. ABHI’S VIEW
Whole legal system is skewed in favor of party with big budget i.e ability to pay big
lawyers.
This lawyer wining may depend upon paying off the relevant people.
Wining legal cases are increasingly a matter of the sides with more money.
Hence Companies with deep pockets create new rules in legality and lay the
benchmarks.
13. VYASRAJ VIEW
Life is not about results, but the process! Win the process first.
Victory is not to be sought in events but in spirit of actions.
Life is a battlefield and has to be fought according to the war rules.
Being a leader, the head of an organization does not mean misusing your power. Power
comes from responsibility.
Good or bad we have to tackle them and they are jurisdiction in which we operate.
Our duty is not just the business. Our duty is to tackle the variables before us fully.
