12-year-old Maria Fajardo’s double lung
transplant was done at LPCH in November.
Maria was born with cystic fibrosis, which is a
condition that clogs your lungs and can be life
threatening. For the last two years before her
surgery, she had to be provided an oxygen tank
24/7, and now no longer needs it.
Maria said that she is excited that she can now
go swimming.
