Christophe will talk about what he's learned from his almost 20 years of experience in the IT industry, and his career and training advice for the upcoming generation. This include his personal experiences, what motivates him everyday, and hopefully may help you define your path to “success”. This is not about any specific technology.

18. Work tip. #1
Don’t pick a job. Pick a boss.
Your first boss is the biggest factor in your
career success. A boss who doesn’t trust you
won’t give you opportunities to grow.
- William Raduchel
19. Work tip. #2
Patience, discipline and dedication are
required. The road to “senior” lies within
quality, not quantity. Time is the only way to
gain the necessary experience. Like many
things in life, there are no shortcuts.
● Build a firm foundation: knowledge &
standards
● Invest in your tools
20. “'Life is a journey, not a
destination”.
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

22. Work tip. #3
Understand who and why!
Technology is a tool, it serves the business,
understand the business and the big picture.
● Who is it for? Who wants it?
● Why do they want it? Why is this the best
option?
23. Work tip. #4
Know, communicate & reset expectations!
● Ask questions! Make sure you really
understand everything.
● Understand what the client and your
supervisor care about.
● There will be language and culture barriers.
● Over communicate.
24. Work tip. #5
Feel free to complain!
Yet you must remember:
● Complain and come with a solution.
● Complain directly to the person who can
solve it.
26. Life tip. #1
Find your passion. Learn what you want to do in
life.
Do it.
● Money is likely not your passion, it’s a tool to
your goal not your goal.
28. “Choose a job you love, and
you will never have to work a
day in your life.”
Confucius
29. “Do something you love. If you are
doing something you are passionate
about, you are just naturally going to
succeed, and a lot of other things will
happen that you don’t need to worry”.
CEO of General Motors, Mary Barra
30. Life tip. #2
Don’t fear failure.
● Growth requires you go outside of your
comfort zone.
● If it's easy, it's not growing you. If it's hard
you are.
● The harder it is, the higher the chance for
growth and failure! Get comfortable with it if
you want to reach higher.
33. “Your beliefs become your thoughts,
Your thoughts become your words,
Your words become your actions,
Your actions become your habits,
Your habits become your (character),
Your values become your destiny.”
Gandhi
37. The grass isn’t greener on the other side, it’s
greener where you water it.
● We often don’t appreciate what we have, and
take it for granted.
● We fail to see and create opportunities.
Life tip. #5
46. .Your Dreams.
It's not about how to achieve your dreams, it's
about how to lead your life. If you lead your life
the right way, the dreams will come to you.
Seize every moment because "time is all you
have...and you may find one day that you have
less than you think".
