basket culture and shun polythene bags, use car pools and bicycles to reduce the
emission of CO2, regular disposal of garbage, sapling plantation and reduce
noise pollution. The students and teachers were divided into 15 groups of 10
children each and were sent out for 2-3 hours. Different locations were identified
which included Shalimar Garden, Dabur Chowk in Vaishali, Mohan Nagar
crossing and different sectors of Rajender Nagar, Sahibabad. The students also

when they visited various houses and shops. The students also stopped various
vehicles, distributed pamphlets and got the Pledge sheets signed. Polybags were
taken away from the passers-by at various crossings and markets and cloth bags
were given instead to encourage the “Basket culture” and reduce the use of
polybags. A truck was arranged to remove the garbage from some areas in close
proximity to the school. The banners were put at various locations to remind the
residents of their social responsibilities. The student’s council and few teachers

campaign. He appreciated the efforts put forth by the children and encouraged
them to continue this drive. The Principal of the school, Mrs. Nalini Bahl said
