3. 1. P-ISM (“Pen-style Personal Networking gadget package”), which
is under developing stage NEC Corporation.
2. NEC corporation displayed a conceptual $30,000 prototype of P-
ISM.
3. P-ISM was first featured at the 2003 ITU telecom world held in
Geneva, Switzerland.
4. The P-ISM is based on “low cost electronic perception
technology”.
5. P-ISM is a gadget including five functions:
6. A pen style cellular phone with a handwritting data input function
Virtual Keyboard
A very small projector
Camera scanner

4. 1. P-ISM (“Pen-style Personal Networking Gadget Package”), which
is under developing stage by NEC Corporation (Nippon electronic
company limited).
2. This ‘pen sort of instruments’ produces both the soft-output as well
as the Virtual Keyboard on any flat surface where you can carry out
functions you would normally do on your desktop computer.
3. It is based on electronic perception technology.
4. P-ISM’s are connected with one another through short range
wireless technology.
5. The whole set is connected to the internet through the cellular
phone function.

5. 1. Electronic perception technology (EPT) is a low cost, single-chip
imagining technology.
2. One of the first application is a virtual keyboard, a system that
projects a laser keyboard onto a table and detects which keys the
user is pressing by watching their hands and sensing which spots on
the table their fingers are touching.
3. EPT systems can currently determine brightness and distinguish
objects from one another.
4. Current EPT keyboard can sense 400 characters per minute.

8. 1. The functionality of CPU is done
by one of the pen.
2. It is also called computing engine.
3. Dual core processor is used.
4. Works with windows operating
system.
5. Thee are four steps in CPU i.e.
fetch, decode, execute and write
back.
6. The CPU contains circuitry and
uses electric signals to direct the
computer to carry out stored
program instruction.

2. The whole set is connected to internet through cellular phone
function.
3. Uses Wi-Fi technology.
4. Exchange information with wireless connection.
5. P-ISM’s are connected to one another with short range wireless
technology.

10. 1. Virtual Keyboard is a new gadget.
2. It emits laser on desk which gives
an alternative input mechanism.
3. Based of electronic perception
technology.
4. Reduce the risk of keystroke
logging.
5. Reduce the risk of password theft
from malicious “spyware” and
“Trojan programs”.

11. 1. The role of monitor is taken by LED projector which projects on the
screen.
2. The size of projector is A4 size.
3. Resolution capacity of 1024x768.
4. It gives more clarity and good picture.
5. A video projector is a device that receives a video signals and project
the corresponding image on a projection screen using a lens system.
11
12. 1. Digital camera is in the shape of pen.
2. Useful in video recording, video conferencing simply it is called a
web cam.
3. 360 degree visual communication device.
4. Easy and portable.
5. Types of Digital Camera:
a) Compact digital camera
b) Bridge Camera
c) Mirror less interchangeable camera
6. Three main methods of capturing the image:
a) Single shot
b) Multi shot
c) Scanning

13. 1. It is important part in portable type of computers.
2. The type of Based here is lithium ion battery.
3. Usually batteries are small in size and work for a long time.
4. It comes with a battery life of 6+(6days).
5. For normal use it can be used for two weeks.
13
16. The communication devices are smaller and compact. This is only
an example for the start of this new technology. We can expect
much more developments in the future.
