Culture & Culture Change 'New Insights' — ODTI (orgcmf.com)
Redefining Culture from ‘It’s the way we do things around here’ & Culture Change from a focus
exclusively on Values, Beliefs & Behaviours to:
Culture Change as an Organisation Development intervention, of diagnosis and development, and
because the model is normative for developmental learning, we can do so in the knowledge that a)
diagnosis of change capacity is valid and optimises Traction; b) the developmental process is
complete and optimises Sustainability; and c) such development is correlated with systemic
effectiveness, productivity and returns.

New Conference Videos
Agile2020 Reflect Global Festival (Feb 2021)
There is a scurry for Business Agility as organisations go through a number of transformations
brought about by changing business and technology environments, and accelerated by the Covid-19
Pandemic. Change and Transformation are pervasive and essential, not just to survive, but to thrive.
Whether you are going through or contemplating Agile Transformation, Business Transformation,
Digital Transformation, Leadership Transformation, or Remote Worker Transformation, there are
common elements to all that need to be understood and implemented throughout the
transformation journey.
Research by McKinsey informed us that 70% of transformation projects fail – either fail completely,
or fail to achieve the anticipated goals. Existing Models of Change though useful, are too simplistic
for today's volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous business and technology environments
because:
• They see change as an event, usually once-off
• They provide limited guidance on specific change actions needed, and
• They tend to have more focus on People, Process and Resistance rather than the System as a
Whole.
Change Capability (Agility) and Innovation have become critical elements of business survival today.
In this presentation we will present the "Next Generation Change Management" which is based on
"Dynamic Systems Maturity Theory (DSMT). DSMT is the result of research across Organisational
Science, Psychology and Economics to understand organisational system failure mechanisms and
develop enhancements to existing models and change processes, to build agility and reduce
transformation failure rates.
It discusses why transformation projects fail, and what you can do to avoid that happening in your
transformation projects. At the end of this presentation, you will understand what it means for an
organisation to be truly "agile", and how you can go about achieving that in your organisation.

Outlook for Organisations, Teams & Business
As some parts of the world progress with their Covid-19 vaccination programs we are seeing
organisations and their leaders planning and starting to implement programs of recovery and
realignment.
During the Pandemic many Organisations changed or adjusted their Business & Operating Models,
this often involved the adoption of New Digital Technologies or the extension and reconfiguration of
existing technologies. Work Teams & Job Roles changed for many and of course sadly many people
lost their jobs.
For many organisations the ‘Buzz Words’ became a reality to survive ‘Agility’, ‘Collaboration’, ‘Digital
Transformation’, ‘Productivity’, ‘Culture Change’, ‘Innovation’
The term ‘Digital Transformation’ became better understood for some it meant significant change to
the Offerings, Products & Services, and Business Model, for others it involved digitization of an
existing process such as eMarketing, eSales & eDistribution which had a pervasive impact on a
significant number of stakeholders.

The key questions Leadership Teams and ‘C’ suite executive are asking, or should be
asking are!
• What have we learned about our resilience and the current and future needs of each key
stakeholder?
• What changes worked and brought benefits, and which did not?
• What were the positive and negative impacts on people and teams?
• What do we need to do to energize and engage them in the future?
• What short cuts did we take that need some level of assurance?
• What is our existing Capability Maturity Profile today?
• How has the competitive landscape changed?
• What New Opportunities have or are emerging, where we have or can create advantage?
• What do we project our Customer & market needs and demands will be for each of the next
3 years?
• What will the Legal & Regulatory Framework look like for the next period? And how might
that impact us?
• What is our vision, mission, aims and objectives for the next 3 years and for the next 12
months in detail.?
• Is there a solid business case for continuity with a new or revised vision, mission and
objectives?
• What new resources (Technologies, Materials, Information, Service Providers, Finance etc.)
will we require?
• What will the short- and medium-term future of work look like for our people?
• What new Capabilities do we require to achieve the objectives?
7. Transformation, Change & Improvement Newsletter for Q1-2021 (ODTI)
www.orgcmf.com
• What Resources & Capacity do we require to achieve the objectives?
• How will we engage and manage any transformation or change?
• Who will be responsible and own each key Transformation or Change?
• What are the first steps/actions and who will take them?
Know your starting point!
As leaders and professionals answer the questions above, they must gather and collate data and
information to make good decisions and have a means to assess progress as they implement
transformation and change, not just outputs, outcomes and activity but Capability Maturity Levels as
its Capability Maturity that will build sustainable Growth, Agility, Resilience and Leadership.
So, we recommend a DSMT based Capability Maturity Assessment as a great starting point and a
means to identify those new Capability Maturity Levels that must be built to achieve the
organisations aims and ambitions. The Reference Models provide the development roadmaps for
each and every Capability.
