Horror is a genre of speculative fiction which is intended to frighten, scare, disgust,
or startle its readers by inducing feelings of horror and terror. Horror should make the
reader feel afraid through imagery and language.There are 4 main horror areas
killers, monsters, paranormal and psychological horror.All this makes 6 main genres and
lots of subgenres…

3. Proposal
Logline
My short movie is in the horror genre and will be a paranormal. It will be about a paranormal presence ‘The Thing’ that
stalks and sometimes ’takes’ the people who walk around near where it haunts. In the town there has recently been a lot of
people disappearing and this paranormal presence is the reason why. Nobody knows what the paranormal presence is or
where it located. The short movie follows a character that wanders into its territory without knowing and is hunted down by
it. The ‘thing’ will have a unique sound that it makes when it is about to get its next victim.
Screenplay Structure
Act: 1 – This act will start in a classroom and have students and a teacher talking about the recent news about people
disappearing and how no one knows how they do. They will finish the discussion at the end of class and the main
character will now be the main focus…
Act: 2 – In this act the main character will be walking home in a park from school/college and this is where the ‘thing’ first
makes its first appearance. Then the main character starts to feel anxious and feels like something is watching him. He
then starts to hurry up to get home. It finally becomes a dramatic chase between the two leading onto act 3...
Act: 3 – Act 3 is the final act of my movie and it will be a short act. This act will be the final chase between the two
characters as the main character tries to get away from the creature.
