Proposal
Film Synopsis
This film takes place in a normal house as three friends unite
for some food and drinks for Halloween. However, one of them
have different ‘idea’. The idea that they have is to do a
spiritual ritual to try and make contact with the dead however,
the ritual that they choose to do doesn’t make contact with
spirits, it summons demons. After the ritual, two of the friends
leave and the protagonist home alone and then the haunting
gets serious. The film ends with one of the friends coming back
to the house after forgetting something and is immediately
murdered by the demon. The protagonist is also injured in the
process and is slowly murdered by the demon too.
The Logline
When three friends unite for Halloween, they attempt to
contact the dead for fun but end up contacting something that
should never be contacted.
Screenplay Structure
Act 1: The “party” – The 3 friends have food and drinks together
over Halloween.
Act 2: The ritual – The 3 friends take part in a ritual to try and
communicate with their deceased friend however it isn’t the
friend that they summon, it’s a demon. The demon is
summoned but it just seems like nothing has really happened.
Act 3: The aftermath – After the ritual, two of the friends get
ready to leave since it is getting late and ‘nothing’ happened
with the ritual. The protagonist (the one who is home alone)
starts to tidy up the mess that is left. While sorting things out,
strange things start happening around the house.
Characters
Protagonist – Leyla – She is the sensible one out of the group.
Reluctant to do the ritual since she does not want to anything
that involves spirits.

Deuteragonist- Mark – He is the reckless one of the group. He
pressures the protagonist into doing the ritual even though she
does not want to take part in it.
Deuterogamist- Deni’s – She is easily persuaded into doing
things and doesn’t really take anything seriously.
Film Treatment
Leyla, a sensible teenager is convinced into performing a
demonic ritual by her friends on Halloween. The ritual turns
out to be a disappointing `waste of time` and her two friends
go home. Unfortunately, the ritual was not a waste of time and
it summoned of very dangerous demon and unfortunately can’t
escape its grasp.
Target Audience
My target audience are people aged 16-50+. It will also be for
fans of the horror genre, more specifically, the supernatural
side of the horror genre.
